Re: Starting Southbound Oct 10- Water?

From my experience, anything on the water report with a 2 or better will have water. Enjoy your hike!

She also claimed to have hiked the AT in 2016. That claim is going up in smoke too.

Re: Need Help with inReach Explorer

@Hansenaz
I question whether Basecamp would even work with the InReach. Yes, InReach is now Garmin, but it was developed by DeLorme and then bought by Garmin.

Re: Fire Management

@Tough_Boots I think you misunderstand me here. It's not that I don't want positive things outside my own benefit, I do. The only form of life on this earth that cares about things or the future of our planet, is us people. If we're gone, then there is nothing that can care about what happens on ea...

Re: Fire Management

@Tough_Boots
I assume you mean out of context. But no, it made perfect sense to me. Basically, if we as a species are gone, then I don't see what difference it makes what the heck happens on this earth. Basically, there would be no one left to care one way or the other.

Re: Land Management Policy

The Pika is a very good Example of that... Pikas are everywhere, I swear. I got up one night a couple weeks ago to pee and tried to put my shoe on but something was in the way. I thought my sock was bunched up so I straightened it and tried again. Still something was in the way so I thought the ins...

Carver Brewing Co. in Durango, CO offers a free pint of their Colorado Trail Nut Brown Ale to those finishing their Colorado Trail hike. Let me tell ya, it's tasty!

Re: AZT - Phoenix to Flagstaff

I think I'd take the Black Canyon National Recreation Trail from Phoenix north. That will get you up past highway 69. Then I'd figure out how to get to Sedona and from there to Flagstaff. [ gps route ] From that route, I'd adjust the south to end and go north from 51st Ave. Sorry, no help from the n...

Unless you want everything frozen, don't use dry ice.

Personally, I find viewing 360 photos totally annoying and 360 videos totally confusing. I guess I'm a curmudgeon.

My pool's water level raised at least two inches. The water's above the skimmer. It would be a great time to backflush but the yard is already completely saturated. :( ](*,)

Re: SR87 / Beeline Hwy 2017 summer restrictions

Thanks, but I'll take the Beeline over the I-17... in my experience, it's nothing like the traffic & accidents on the I-17. That's a complete reversal of what things used to be like. I used to rarely go to the rim to avoid the Beeline and the accidents and backups that were pretty much a weekly occ...

Re: Bought a new pack, Deuter ACT Lite 60+10 SL

I have one of those. I got it late summer 2014. I took it on two Grand Canyon trips and used it on 5 trips along the Arizona Trail, for maybe 500 miles or so total. I liked it, but I moved to a lighter pack, an ULA Circuit (41oz) and used that for maybe 800 miles on the rest of the AZT, the Black Ca...

Re: National Monuments Undone??

But the area of the 4 monuments being targed is well over 2/3 of the total area of all National Monuments in Arizona (4 monuments = a bit over 2 million acres; remaining 14 = well under 1 million--if someone wants to add up all those areas, go for it). Which in and of itself signifies that those fo...

Re: National Monuments Undone??

@amy1300
There're a lot more than four national monuments in Arizona. Of all the national monuments in Arizona, only four are being reviewed and those are the four that were requested to be rescinded.
