Mine from 2 years ago when it was wetter. 2wd HC is fine for the entire road to Picture then Copper Mountain.

For all those reasons, plus being able to navigate at night when you can't see land features. I grew up on maps/compass and over the years have shed carrying maps.
I am still a map person and love scanning maps both paper and electronically.

@damacias71 Unless you are using a flip phone :) your smartphones GPS should work great for activities anywhere you can obtain a signal. Plus the maps are much easier to see on the larger and brighter screen. If you are worried, carry both. But if you can get a signal w/ your GPS, you can get one w...
