Re: HAZ member imike, sad news

@big_load
The December 12th hike was posted on the Jornada meetup site (Las Cruces) as: Alamo: Ortega North to Dry Canyon Traverse, with Michal as event host. Looks like 6 attended. Very sad.

Re: Ideas for Camping/Hiking in Jan thru late-March ?

I'm a big fan of the Anza-Borrego area in Southern California. Big state park with lots of free camping options. Low enough in most places to be relatively mild for tent camping during the colder months. Not as jammed with people as Joshua Tree (exceptions would be the OHV hot spots like Ocotillo We...

You know me well Jack. The RAV is still proudly wearing the mud I picked up along the Canadian River in New Mexico around Labor Day. :lol:

Re: Vehicle Trailer Camping - Airstream's "Basecamp" and Others

Well constructed and pricey of course, but well thought out. My biggest complaint would be all the window space. I like privacy, so that wouldn't work for me. That and the reflectivity issue with all the shiny surfaces.

I saw that article earlier today and thought that it was just about a perfect choice for a small unit. Really cool!

Re: Fort Huachuca Access 2017

Based on RedRoxx's report I went down to Fort Huachuca today and got my pass. I was there around noon and the only customer at the time, so I was processed very quickly. I started to fill out the form while the background check was being run, and the soldier said, "No need to fill that form out. You...

I totally agree with what outdoor_lover posted. Too many of us getting out there more than ever, loving these places to death. This is an incredibly difficult project, but one that must be done. I will always side with the plants and animals.

Re: Mindless weather chit chat

Interesting post on the NWS Phoenix Facebook page this morning: https://www.facebook.com/NWSPhoenix/photos/a.116399401775257.27060.109632169118647/1416956465052871/?type=3&theater This reminds me of a similar event I read about in a book entitled "Texas Weather," that I bought while working at Midla...
