Thumb it! That's what we're gonna do... Arizona is generally a thumb friendly state.

Re: Your workout hike?

Depends on which rim I'm living on... When I'm on the north rim I can walk or job Widforss in 2-3 hours or Supai Tunnel and back on north Kaibab. South rim I enjoy gallivanting through the forest along the AZT or some of the "locals only" trails out there. Taking the toroweap slope out to the orphan...

Reliable water Snake-Kanab Crk?

Doing a 3-4 week trip April 2018, a section of the trip wanders through the entirety of Snake Gulch then Kanab Creek. We've not explored either of these sections yet so... Wondering what water sources are very reliable through Snake Gulch and Kanab to Jump up area. (From there it's a familiar territ...

Re: Resupply north of Grand Canyon

@LuckyMan You can send a package to the post office at the north rim, 85 N Main Street, North Rim 86052 (928) 643-7122 M-F 8:00-12:00; 1:00-5:00. That's 65 miles from the finish. According to the data book, there is a resupply box at 765.8 and at 774.3, but you would have to have someone drop the p...

Re: Hiking pain and pill popping

Mmmmm Vicodin. Gimpy Hippy use to be a Vitamin I kinda gal after every hike... Nowadays I "walk it off" until I can't anymore (usually day 4 or after 45 miles whichever comes first) ...then I dig into my safety supplies for some relief along with one Ibuprofen to allow comfortable sleep. But only if...

My boyfriend and I are Grand Canyon peak baggers so if you're ever up there and willing to try your hand at that kinda thing let me know.
We don't use rope or do technical climbs if can avoid it. We enjoy Butcharting.

Re: 2017 Hazolutions

If anyone cares 2016 was a great year for me. My first season guiding on the North Rim went well and GCA offered me the same job for 2017 already. I summited Cheops Pyramid, Oza, Saddle Mtn and I think Kibbey Butte became my 20th Grand Canyon summit. Woolsey and Shiva are still calling to me. Those ...

@sandyfortner ....I live here. May-October I guide North Rim day hikes. and there are about 500 people living here during the summer season (may-oct). I'm lucky enough to have a rather decent sized RV parking spot so i can easily fit a tent camper in front of my "rig" come on over friends! Co...
