Re: Travel delays on Four Peaks/El Oso Road

I'll be traveling a few miles along 143 this Saturday, when I return I'll report anything of importance for y'all.

The road was pretty nasty when we went out that way last week...really nice of them to do some yard work out there for us!

Re: A good hike for me and a 2 year old

I took my daughter hiking in Saguaro National Park when she was 3 and another visit down there we went to Linda Vista Trailhead, there are quite a few hike/walk options from that trailhead. Great for the little ones. Most regional parks have nature/interpretive trails available that are great for ki...

Re: Skull cave...again I know...

@Widowmaker too bad you can't join us, I know you really wanted to day hike it, I did too originally but that flu bug kicked my butt and I know I'd be hurting on a crazy dayhike right now. Enjoy ridge line with RV though!!! Maybe next time. Everyone else I sent you a PM with a question and details....

@PLC92084 I'm good with those dates so far, waiting to hear from one more person but I think feb 22/23 would work best for me, I just switched work stuff around so I get weekends off like a normal person now. :y:

Re: Skull cave...again I know...

I think Bob did it as a day hike didn't he? And a few others have. While I don't have the speed they do I have the stamina. It has been suggested to leave late afternoon sat, Feb 8th and do a mini backpack. (I work until 3pm Saturdays) On sunday we'd end up hiking the full 9 miles back plus whatever...

Re: The "Ogre's Den" near Tom's Thumb/East End ...

@GWojton
so the popular one we all visit after hitting East End peak is the Miner's Cave? So confusing. I didn't know there was a second one that looked so similar (at first anyway) very neat, thanks!

Re: The "Ogre's Den" near Tom's Thumb/East End ...

Apparently the Ogre's Den has been cleared out?? No table or sandbags or "unidentified rusty crap" anymore...a friend sent me a pic, is it the same den...just empty. :? Or is there another "den" nearby that's similar??? What gives?? Anyone wanna go investigate with me tomorrow? Edit: ya know what th...

Re: Dogs Below the Rim!!!

I spotted a pooch at Phantom back in April or may but it was alone...hmmm Main reason they don't want pooches below the rim is the mules. Dog spooked by mule might attack, mule kills dog or bucks rider or backs up off the trail!? Meh... Goats and llamas are also not allowed in the canyon FYI.... :D ...
