For runs over 5 miles or so (or if temps are higher than I'm used to...), I use a Sierra Designs hydration pack. It's 2.5L and contained in a small, lightweight pack that doesn't flop around when I'm running. I can take out the bladder and carry a 1L Gatorade bottle and some other items if needed. T...

Patrick: 4x4's have more complexity and they generally get worse gas mileage than a 4x2. But... they sure are nice when it's muddy and snowy and two wheels just ain't working... If you aren't going to be rock crawling, then you won't need anything too gnarly; a Tacoma is a great truck! Mileage isn't...

Pam: I'll be bringing some of the Sweetwater pre-filters plus a number of Chlor-Floc packages (just in case...). Chlor-Floc is a combination flocculent/purifier; it settles particulate matter (mud, silt) in the water and purifies it. I'm still on the fence about getting an extra filter cartridge... ...
