Re: 2015: Rain, Snow, Wind, and Sun!!!!!!

@Jim_H
The Snotel report should be higher tomorrow. It says it's current, but I remember it updating every 12-24 hours last time they got snow.
Or I'm losing my mind. Let's not rule anything out yet.

@Jim_H
Snowslide Canyon Snotel read 36" when I tried it last year. I'll take 36" again - anything above that is just a bonus.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

That's a good balance. Hibernate in winter, hike for days on end in the summer.

Re: The 2015! self propelled totals thread.

Currently on a 17 day streak of nothing. I need to move to Alaska so I can always have daylight to hike in, no matter what time I wake up.

It's definitely a cause for concern. "Was passed by and later caught up to" is more accurate on my end, though.

Passed a silver Forester tonight that had a HAZ decal and an Arizona Wilderness Brewery sticker. Who was it?

Re: 2015 Hazalutions

@Jim_H Looking at AZ's prominence list, if you're into that sort of thing, you've got Cunningham Mountain , Signal Peak (Kofa Mountains), Sheep Mountain (Gila Mountains), Mount Ajo , Mohawk Peak , Sierra Pinta HP, and Woolsey Peak . That's in addition to Castle Dome and Table Top. There's also Sout...

Re: 2015 Hazalutions

@Jim_H I had Sandia Crest, Manzano Peak, and Mount Taylor in mind. Now that you mention it, I forgot about Sierra Blanca, but that's a little out of the way, and a long approach from Three Rivers. Big Hatchet Peak looks like a fun one, too. I'd definitely like to hike Newman. I'm hoping to hit Cast...

In response to the poll, I've never carried duct tape with me and I've never needed it. That's only day hiking, though. Might be another story with backpacking.

Re: 4th Annual New Year's Day Peak Celebration

I realized the other day that I've been saying "Maggies" for the last two months.

I'm going to move myself over to the committed column. Considering getting an earlier start and heading up the western ridge, but we'll see about that.

Re: 2014 Hazalutions

For 2014, I'll say big hikes (again), more travels, and more peaks. Ultimately, I want to be a lot more active than I was this year. I'd also like to go snowshoeing in Mesa Verde within the next two months along with some peakbagging in California. Mesa Verde barely had snow, I went to California o...
