@KBKB
It's been closed for at least 4 Years... From what everyone has been led to believe, it's Permanent. But the Facilities are still there and I'm sure people still do it....

Re: 7th Annual New Year's Day Hike

For those that are "On the Fence", maybe think about Committing in the next couple of Days??? I'm starting the Shopping List and although I usually plan for the "Interested" Column just in case it's a last minute Decision on your Part, it's nice if those that KNOW they WON'T be coming, to go ahead a...

Re: Tonto Pass required for Cave Creek TH ??

My Guess is that it was a Fee Site at one Time, but they discontinued it when they closed Seven Springs. I've never seen it Posted as a Fee Site, but I didn't start going there until after Seven Springs was Closed. They probably don't feel like it's worth sending someone up there to Enforce it just ...

Re: 7th Annual New Year's Day Hike

Chances are we will be strung out, even with 15 People. I haven't really found people that have done my Events to be real Chatty, especially on the Uphill side of things. Kinda goes for the Downhill parts too if it's steep... People tend to concentrate on what they're doing.... We tend to chat when ...

@RowdyandWidowmaker If I remember correctly from Previous Years, I've Preferred No Dogs because some others may not be comfortable Hiking with them... I would hate to not have someone come simply because they don't enjoy Hiking with Dogs or are Allergic.... Sorry Larry.... @BobP I would love to see...

Re: 2018 Hazolutions

In 2018, I resolve, when invited, to join at least four HAZ community members on the trail. You should join us for our New Year's Day Hike instead of doing the White Tanks... https://hikearizona.com/dex2/viewtopic.php?t=10309 You can knock that Resolution out of the Park on the very first Day of th...

Re: 2017 Hazolutions

I didn't make any Resolutions for this Year except to just "get back"... I was still Rehabbing my Ankle in January and was having Feet Problems as well... Had the Feet worked on, but Thanks to Diabetes and Impatience, I ended up not being able to wear Closed Toe Shoes until April, so I got a late St...

"Sunny, 0% Chance of Rain across the Board... No Partly Sunnys, No Partly Cloudys, nothing but Sun and No Rain Chance... Looked at t...

Re: Ankle Brace For Hiking/Running

I use a Trail Runner for most of my Hiking now... But if there will be a lot of heavy duty scrambling or Rock Hopping, I go to my Low Cut Hiking Shoes simply for a tad more Foot Support and more Traction and Grip.... But I still don't wear a Brace... A really good Ankle Strengthener is a Wobble Boar...

Re: Ankle Brace For Hiking/Running

First, for something like that, before you do anything else, I would see an Orthopedic, not a Podiatrist...(Trust me on that one, lol) I can recommend an Excellent one, who specializes in Feet and Ankles... Podiatrists are more useful for Foot Problems, like Bunions and Toenails and such... I would ...

Re: Mindless weather chit chat

@chumley It's pretty funny actually...We'll see how this Forecast holds up...3 Years ago, I solo Backpacked Aravaipa for 3 Days...The Forecast when I left the House was 20% Chance with about 1/10 Inch Forecast... It was Updated to 60% Chance by the Time I hit the Wilderness... Starting in late Afte...
