Excellent pictures. I'd love to use the purple colored flower picture for my desktop or the sunset behind the cactus.

I'm looking forward to hiking Peralta, your pictures made me want to do it even sooner!!

Thanks for sharing. You are a very good photographer.

I remember Batman and Robin! But my favorite was Lost in Space, I wanted to grow up and be like Major West. We did not buy Jiffy Pop when I was a kid, we popped the kernels in a pan. Cheaper, or so my mom said. OMG! I sure do remember Batman and Robin, "to the bat cave Robin" and all the -- zap, po...

Anyone see Pirates of the Carribean? Good movie. Love the monkey! Johnny Depp is good in it, steals the show. Good entertainment. I don't know if I can talk like a pirate, I know I can talk like a valley girl, geesh let me try: "Like Arrrhhhhh matties, totally avast!" ... ummm never mind! lol Sheril...

Pfredricks, sounds like a great idea I hope you get some good responses for a camping trip, the women should also do something along the same lines. What do you think ladies? By the way, I like George Carlin too :) "I am man, hear me snore" how funny, I love it! Count me in Billy, I think this is a...

Thanks for this information. I love Prescott, I've been on two hikes at Isabella Trail and planning another hike for Groom's Creek. Maybe we'll drive over to the lake and take a look.

Thanks,

I recently purchased a book on 100 Classic Hikes in Arizona and in there it mentions that this area gets the most lightening strikes in the Nation. I believe it. With each hike I'm on, I am learning something new about safety. With this hike, it was lightening. It's never to be taken "light-ly", pun...

Just a useless fact, that actually comes in a little handy if you want to know how far away the lightning is, every 5 second difference in the flash and the crash is about a mile. Thank you for that info. I'm waiting to see what Diann has to say about that. As for me, I'm kind of laughing since the...

Diann & Sherilee's Horton Creek Seeing the Light Hike

Diann and I went on a hike Thursday, Aug 28th, to Horton Creek Trail in Tonto forest. This was Diann's second time there, my first. We had a wonderful time hiking up to the spring's area. It's 4 miles one way with beautiful foliage, the rush of the water from the creek, butterfies and the smell of t...

Re: Dancing Squirels #1

"weird is a relative..." Olesma, YOU take after your relative "weird" Not relative as in sister/brother - relative as in "Theory of relativity" Space and time are relative to the observer and not a absolute or a fixed constant. Weirdness follows the same law - one man's weird is another man's...

Re: Dancing Squirels #1

If you can't laugh at this then there is something seriously wrong with you. Of course - there is also something seriously wrong with whoever created it - but that is another matter entirely. Two things Olesma: First, it was very funny the squirrel disco sauna. Who thinks up this stuff!?! And how d...

Seems we resurrected an old topic but very interesting one. I won't hike alone ever, but don't fault anyone that feels confident to hike alone. When you decide to hike alone, you are responsible for yourself and what can happen. I think it's the individual's choice. I hope when they make that choice...
