Re: Granite Gear Vapor Trail Backpack - $100

Pack is still available. Will consider reasonable offers. I would like to sell this pack as its just taking up room in my gear closet. Will ship if needed, buyer covers shipping costs.

Optimus Stove Recall

While I was searching for a maintenance kit for my Optimus Nova Stove, I came across a recall notice. Just wanted to pass this along so if anyone owns one, they can get it repaired/replaced. http://www.optimusstoves.com/usen/service/nova-recall/ http://www.optimusstoves.com/fileadmin/user_upload/opt...

Re: hiking plans and goals for 2011

This year will be much of the same as last year. Hoping to make it out on weekend trips once a month, and break 100 miles for the year. Also want to start training and compete in this: http://www.toughmudder.com

Re: hiking resolutions for 2010?

I failed... My goal was 100 miles. Fell short by 40. Next year will be @ least 1 backpacking trip a month and 100 miles by the end of the year.

Re: Water Filters?

Not sure the specs..but under $100..katadyn hiker pro which i like a lot...my msr was a side pumper I didn't like how much energy it took but it filtered great. I would also recommend this filter as well. I have had it for a couple years now and its worked great. No issues with it in the field and ...

Re: Verde hot springs in the winter?

We chose this place for our first hike and our first with our dog. Since we are new to hiking I am sure that we will not be properly prepared, but luckily it is only a short 2 mile hike(rt) if we find the correct trail. I think that we are going to try the Fossil Creek Rd route via I-17 Camp Verde....

Re: Summer 2010 Reading List

I know very little on Karzai so I don't have a complete picture painted so to say, but what I do know, from the bit I have researched and read, I wouldn't trust the guy. I will definitely have to pick up that book as well. I find my list doubling before knocking any off it. Keep the suggestions comi...

Re: Summer 2010 Reading List

Did you hear about the situation with the punks killing Luttrell's dog? I did... Some people man, I tell ya. He goes off and risks everything for our country, gives nearly his life, and then some kill his welcome home/recovery dog for "fun." Simply disgusting. I heard that the trial had been delaye...

Re: Summer 2010 Reading List

Not sure if this is something anybody would like to read, but it is a very good book. Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10. The first few chapters are slow, detailing SEAL training and how everything works, but after that you won't be able to...

allanalxndr just seems to be angry at everyone who doesn't think just like him, or who questions something he likes. He also makes a bunch of assumptions that are baseless and have nothing to do with what was posted before he chimed in. What ever. Chet, I am not angry at you or anyone else with dif...

Re: New AZ CCW law

So, what is it, really? Don't give us in the non-believer crowd that :bdh: response, because it doesn't answer the question. What's the need of justification to you when you don't really care what the answer is? Does it affect you in some way if someone is carrying openly or concealed? Your paranoi...

Re: Redflex and AZDPS corruption

Since a Democrat decided to try this program and a Republican wants to get rid of it, so now it is suddenly a liberal/conservative issue? I don't think so, not amongst the public! Almost no one likes the cameras, and that is that. I don't think there are any political points gained or lost in this ...
