Re: Cactus spine/needle removal

I have heard that a comb is useful with cholla. Only heard it, never got the use it. I was hiking and had some "jumping" cholla snatch only my leg. I ended up wrapping my belt around and pulling it out. Talk about pain.

Re: Weird things in the Wild

The last time I was up at Reavis Ranch, I took a night hike up to the circlestone ruins. I'm pretty sure they were deer, I hope, but I was continuously seeing glowing green eyes just outside of my headlamps range. I tried flashing them with my camera but nothing would show up. It was pretty creepy ...

Re: INSANE River Data

Personally, I'm wondering about east boulder near Pinyon Camp and Needle Canyon along the Terrapin. How long does water stay in those canyons after rain? There was quite a bit of water running through Needle Canyon last weekend. This was taken near the the north end of Needle Canyon. - http://www.h...

Waterfalls?

With all the rains we have been getting, we were forced to cancel our trip to Charlebois this weeked. Are there any day hikes that would be worth checking out to see waterfalls from all of the flooding and run off?

Anyone has any additional information on this planned trip given the current weather conditions. Never been out to the Superstitions, not sure what to expect given weather rain, etc. Any insight? Thanks Everyone, you all Rock.

Vaporman, I propose that mexicans have nothing to do with it, unless you find some statistics or evidence that mexicans have more cats per capita compared with the rest of America.
They did, but then they opened Filibertos! ;)

Re: Researching GPS

I really like my 60csx. Does everything i need and then some. Primary use is for hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting. Great battery life and keeps a strong satellite signal most of the time. Add the topo maps to it and you have all the information you could need for a given area.

Re: REI Stoke 19 Daypack--Clearance Sale

Most of the Specs match up between the two but the unisex model is for torsos between 17-19. Volume and everything else seems to match (give or take a bit in weight).

Re: REI Stoke 19 Daypack--Clearance Sale

My Fiance has the same pack (http://www.rei.com/product/762536 - different color) and has been using it for the last couple years. It easily holds a days worth of gear for hiking and she says its very comfortable. Normally all the packs that she uses cut into her collar bones but she doesn't have an...

Re: January Trip Ideas

I think our planned route will be to start at Peralta TH to Charlebois Spring, and then continue on Dutchman to Terrapin Trail #234 to come back to Peralta. Any thoughts or other recommendations on this planned route?

Re: January Trip Ideas

I have been looking into the options and I think I can make this work. We will have a group of 4-5 people. I have never been in the area, can anyone confirm that water will be available @ Charlebois Spring?

Thanks everyone.
