Re: Cactus to Clouds

It's a fun hike, don't let the bar at the tram stop you from getting to the top though.

Re: Rim to Rim to Rim in November?

I would stick with the first plan but just camp at Cottonwood both nights. The creek is a minute walk from the campground for water.

Re: Missing Man at Grand Canyon

Not sure which way he was headed, but I wouldn't even consider going Grandview to Kaibab in the heat. The tonto seems to get someone everyone year.

Not really sure what would make someone want to visit there. Your pretty much at your own risk IMO over there.

Re: The 2009 hiking and climbing totals thread.

Is GPS AEG that far off? Seems more accurate than someone just guessing that their supes (or anywhere) hike felt like a lot of ups and just guessing.

Re: Mules to be banned from canyon?

I remember helicopters in the canyon on many trips. Seen them land at Indian Gardens, Phantom and Cottonwood. Now the tourists ones that fly over the Hermit/Boucher area I could certainly do without.

I'm going to hang onto it now, it hold my rope and climbing gear pretty nicely and isn't too bulky.

I still have this pack if anyone wants it, it's really a great pack. Just trying to downsize on gear before I move to Italy.

Re: Royal Arch Loop

Well there is a bypass for that on the other side of the creek/canyon, something about going around that was cool though. I still laugh when I see Matt's camera strap on the otherside and him having to go back and get it.

Golite Jam 2 Men's Large for sale $75

Just as stated, I've used it 2-3 times, nice pack but I just bought a new Gregory Z-55. Moving to Italy so cutting down on my storage requirements. I'm in the North valley if you want to take a look at it. I will be out of town from May 9-16th though. It's Grey in color and in mint condition. -TIM-

Gregory Z-Pack for sale Men's Large

I have my old Gregory Z-Pack for sale. It's served me well I just upgraded to the Z-55 now. It's Red and a Men's Size Large. It has a scrape or two and a small hole from a mouse in the Grand Canyon, not in a spot that affects it's function though. A great pack for a few nights and even a week in our...

Re: Royal Arch Loop

HIKEAZ will get back with you soon I'm sure, he's probably out hiking for the weekend. I think the common practice is to the leave the ropes there until another group comes and replaces them, then they pack out the old ropes. There is a good amount of exposure in the rappel area, but you should be f...

Re: the awesome hike....

But you asked for a hike that would take 4 hours :sl: There are only one or two people I can think of that could maybe do it in 4 hours. (Sid or Allyn) quote] From the summit of Browns Peak, across the other three and return the same way, took 1:35. Total time from trailhead was 3:05. Easy climbing...
