Kurt, is this just a 1 day thing? I'm not finding it on azdot.gov?
Steve,
When I read about it yesterday it stated Wednesday & Thursday restriction - as Wednesday had already passed I omitted it.

Re: New forest thinning contract awarded

@SuperstitionGuy

Agreed... I would love to think that all contractors are 'pure-hearted' and are making a bonafide effort, and certainly the government's many layers are universally obtuse. But that 4FRI / Pioneer F.P/Good Earth / NewLife F.P. boondoggle shows that is not always the case.

Re: New forest thinning contract awarded

January 2018- A Flagstaff-area forest thinning project fell flat with only 3 percent of the work completed when the contract expired last month. The Flagstaff Watershed Protection Project aimed to have 1 square miles (2.6 sq. kilometers) of ponderosa pine forest near Schultz Creek and the base of Mo...

Plan for lane restrictions on State Route 87 near Sunflower. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for lane restrictions as crews do maintenance work on State Route 87 near Sunflower, 5 miles north of the Bush Highway. SR 87 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction b...

Re: Favorite Water Treatment?

I bought a Sawyer Mini and it won't mate with the Smartwater bottles!? Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried the 1L with the normal cap, and the 700ml with the pop cap. My Sawyer mini is the black one instead of the blue, but that shouldn't matter... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXnQ3...

If near Rae Lakes, take the time to explore 60 Lakes Basin - Rae Lakes can be overrun, as it is generally accessed from the west-side. Not technically in Yosemite.... For my money, considering you were requesting 'trail' hiking, I would be suggesting Bishop Pass to Whitney on the JMT (+/-). To cut i...

@pixelfrog I have not been recently, but have always entered off of 60, just north of the Arboretum. If memory serves.... Happy Camp Rd.(?) through Whitford Canyon - of course you are trying to get over to FR 342. This route is somewhat slippery in rain, but 2WD in dry times. Seems it is about 10 m...

They will be Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 15), the first day of National Park Week (April 21), National Public Lands Day (Sept. 22) and Veterans Day (Nov. ...

Concur about the Buckskin - a do-not-miss highlight. Having spent quite a bit of time out by 'The Wave' I would suggest merely exploring that whole area. Although 'The Wave' gets all the attention, the whole Coyote Buttes North area is awesome and worthwhile in its own right. The teepees area is coo...
