The 2019!! Cyclical totals discussion thread.

How are things progressing this year? In keeping with the idea that you are only as good as the numbers you post, I'm up to 61,436' of elevation for the year and a modest 132 miles.
Added August 2019: Looking back 10 years later, I honestly can't think of anything more offensive or unhealthy to say about one's hiking, than the above statement. Thats was my OP in 2009. Hiking should never just be about the stats recorded.

A meager 30.9 miles and 1,700 feet of gain. I'll nearly double that number this weekend though.

I was doing good for a while but that shoulder injury set me back a bit. Still not doing too bad and am on track for over 500 this year.

I was pacing well until the Feb 18th mishap. I had a clear lead on Brian and Wally on elevation, now it's going down the drain. Bob, Mike and Denny are catching up
139.05 mi 6.32 mi(avg) 60,057 ft 2,730 ft(avg) 432 fpm
It really blows being out of photography and now elevation.

I've not been keeping a running tally, but I usually average a minimum of ~25 miles a week so... at least 300 miles. Maybe as many as 400, or around there anyway. No clue as to elevation change, though.

Not all of them are unique or at all strenuous, either. I tend to run through Perl Charles 1A (with different loops taken occasionally) 1-2 times a week as an afternoon stroll, because it's close, easy, and acceptable for me' dog. And I do a new medium/long (10-25 mile) hike once every weekend, and usually something easy on whichever weekend day I don't do that (lookout mountain, over and back again, is popular with me, again for the proximity and ease). So 10 + (10-25) + ~4 gives me 24-39 miles, I guess.

On any given break from school my weekly hiking average usually doubles.

Hoping to get a yearly total of ~1500 mi under my belt by the year's end. Maybe more if I take to trail-running seriously.

im 1 backpack trip away from #100 as listed on HAZ.
ive got more hikes than that, but didnt become a member of this fine site until a few year's experience (or getting owned until i learned better) so I'll celebrate 100 backpacks anyway.. the next hike deserves at least a nice, tall can of Guiness

so far im looking close to 127 miles. 18800 feet. not bad for backpacking miles, with 2 kids to keep me busy :D

42.8 miles and 9,429 feet of elevation gain. I'm not at the top of the pack (I wasn't expecting to be either), but my schedule is way hectic so I'm doin alright so far. The thing is, I'm also doing mostly short, small Sedona stuff right now. Come May I'll have more time and more opportunity for longer miles and bigger gains :gun:

101.35 mi and 14,982 ft. Meh, I haven't been doing a lot of really long hikes lately. My focus has been in quality rather than quantity (excuses, excuses).

I just can't seem to get my Fridays and Saturdays this year...there's ALWAYS something!!

Am only 55 miles, 10,200 feet (how embarrassing  )

If I can just get 300 miles & 70,000 feet this year, I'll be happy...the spirit is willing, but the schedule is king :wrt:

Just over 186 miles, with just under 32,000 elevation gain. A great start compared to last year, should easily beat totals from 2008.

I just reached my 1st anniversary on HAZ on March 18, with 38 hikes, 111 miles and 18,988 elevation gain! And I didn't include elevation gain on Strawberry Crater or the trip up the Vermillion Cliffs, since I did those before I got a GPS.

85.18 miles and 16,823 feet so far this year. Not too bad considering work trips/on call status and one trip to Wisconsin.

HITECH act? I musta missed something at work
