Good read, I had a Kool-Aid snow cone on Mt. Ord once.

Fantastic column.

Hiking is the only thing I've done that causes me to think about my life, "God, I'm 42, I only have a few decades left of doing this. Shoot!" That Abbey quote nails it.
"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." --John Adams
