Post by hikeaz »

A Starbucks coffee shop is currently under construction adjoining the Tusayan General Store.

Location: 577 State Highway 64, Tusayan, Arizona

Grand Opening: Dec. 22, 2017

Operation: The store will be operated by Delaware North, but is not part of the company's concessions contract with Grand Canyon National Park. The General Store and post office are open during construction.

@Tough_Boots Hey, when I posted that, 8 or 9 years ago, I didn't expect it would gain the traction it did, and was just pissed I was getting the ticket that should have been sent to the driver that was passing me, and all the other cars in that column! How was I to know it would go on this long? I just went for a catchy title, or something.

Actually, I get a little annoyed I see it after all these years, since I started it, and it keeps popping up!

FYI - Halvorson is the main player in the GCNP noise-maker biz, and owns IMAX , the Squire Inn, the water? company, all in Tusayan.
Why did the town council vote to increase the height? Of the 5 council members, Mayor Greg Bryan manages the Squire inn, and two other town council members also work for Halvorson companies. A fourth council member, Vice Mayor Cecily Maniaci, operates restaurants in buildings she leases from Halvorson.
