Flagstaff to get a Sportsman's Warehouse

Looks like there will be a Sportsman's Warehouse in Flag by August 2015. Part of the 4th St development between Route 66 and the railroad tracks.
The entire project is sandwiched between Route 66 and the railroad tracks. It will be developed in three phases. The first two phases sit on the southwestern and southeastern corners of Route 66 and Fourth Street. The final phase is located on Route 66 between Arrowhead Avenue and First Street.

The three phases have a total of 18 lots and 195,000 square feet of office/retail space, Hayes said. A three- or four-story hotel is planned for the second phase. The hotel is expected to have between 75 to 100 rooms
The company also planned to install a Flagstaff Urban Trail System trail behind the project and was working with the railroad to use an old train trestle in the area as a bridge for the trail.

I buy Mountain House dehydrated food at Sportsman's Warehouse on 27th Ave just south of the 101. Cheaper than REI. Otherwise Sportsman's is more for - well sportsmen rather than hikers.

Don't forget Four Seasons.

Incidentally, they told me at the REI in Flag they are not going to carry kayaks so as to not infringe upon other local businesses. But there is nowhere in Flag to shop for a full range of kayaks that I know of, so it makes no sense to me. In fact only the scuba shop had a kayak or two for sale. So I don't know what that was about.

@trekkin gecko I agree. Peace Surplus and Aspen Sports are my favorite Flagstaff gear stops. Babbitt's is fun to visit, but I never seem to find good deals there.

Four Seasons, and drop hippiepunkpirate's name. At least, that's how it used to be...

They already have a Big 5 there. Think that place can support a Sportsman's Warehouse as well? I'm not so sure.

Sportsman's lists it at 4421 S White Mountain Road. (south of 60 on 260 toward Pinetop - Lakeside). Almost next door to the Big 5 at 4441 S White Mountain Road.

It is the gateway to the White Mountains. They must be looking at the traffic data.

I tricked them by missing a turn last year and going back and forth a couple times.

Actually Springerville is the "Gateway to the White Mountains." It's the town's official title. However you have to be coming in from nowhere in order to enter that gateway!

The sign was really beat up the last time I saw it, but that was a few years ago, so maybe they refurbished it. All that wind-driven grit must limit its lifespan.

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's the same.
