Achilles tendon pain

Post by benbacome » Apr 11 2017 1:21 pm

Anyone know of any good remedies for an Achilles tendon injury? Everything I'm finding says to elevate and stay off the leg, unfortunately I do not really have that option with work. Not sure exactly what happened but it is tight and even regular walking causes mild discomfort. Obviously I want it healed by the weekend so I can hit the trails.

I've had this once or twice from running. My wife has had it off and on for years. A couple of things that help:

1) Get a foam roller or "the stick" and stretch the heck out of your calves and hamstrings. Do this many times a day.

2) Do eccentric calf exercises: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/sport ... tendinitis Make sure that when you are raising your heel, you're doing it with the other foot.
