Notice to all RS users. There was a bug for the past day when attempting to import alphabetical, queued or nearby. It is now fixed.

You may have to restart the app if you have the
spinning loader on screen and can not get rid of it.

How to close an app:

Android
- tap device pageback several times until you are out of the app

iOS
- Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
- Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
- Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

@joe bartelsThanks
I'll keep using and checking. I thought maybe it got to a certain amount of miles or Aeg and couldn't count that high. Haha! The sound did let me know to check battery power.

I also found it difficult to upload. I need to write some description of tralls etc. and it wouldn't allow me to link for example Barr trail to a generic route because Heizer Trail is not in route manager. I got it figured out eventually, but I'm sure it's just a familiarity issue.

I have a Samsung S5 with the LifeProof case and have no problem hearing it... When I had put the Lifeproof case INSIDE a Kobert plastic waterproof case I could not hear it well, so just cut out a square around the speaker area.

Why did I have both? Because there is no hook for a lanyard on the Lifeproof case, and knowing my penchant from dropping things... well there you have it.

best I know...

- Androids up to five years old have the ability for very loud volume
- iPhone 4, the volume is only loud enough to hear on a quiet hike in your pocket, almost forget it in you pack
- iPhone 5, I don't have a clue
- iPhone 6, seems plenty loud and on par with Android

Route Scout on my Samsung S5 running Android Lollipop 5.0_0027

On three hikes over the weekend I just used v2.0.25 and on the track splits it would only state:
Time = zero minutes and zero seconds
Elevation gain = zero feet elevation gain
Accumulated elevation gain = It did not state anything.
Total time = CORRECT total
Total distance = CORRECT total distance
I used it on a fourth hike but since I couldn't get it working right I tuned all the sound off.

Since Route Scout WORKED fine on Wednesday when I hiked from Carney to West Boulder... even stating Minus elevation on the descent, (I BELIEVE I already had updated RS to v2.0.25 but I'm not), I figured on the off chance it was an issue with the phone or a setting on Route Scout, I used Route Scout 2.0.25 on my Samsung Tab S2, which is running Lollipop 5.1.1 for a short test and Route Scout still stated zero for the time and elevation gain splits.

Working on it, I'll take off the iOS part.

If all goes as planned, 2.0.26 will have an app status area on the initial homepage to communicate bugs and such better.

Updates and to-dos aside, I was super happy to learn that RS now allows you to view the elevation profile for the track you are following as well as the one you are recording!

Now I can easily see what I have already completed as well as the profile of the hike ahead of me. That is super convenient.

Additionally I am way impressed by RS automatically measuring the distance to upcoming waypoints (springs, trail junctions, etc) ON THE TRAIL rather than just in a direct line between me and that waypoint.

This is mega useful and very impressive. :app:

Thanks for all that info and thx Joe for making ALL of that available. I can't hardly wait to load it up on my new phone. That is when I finally push the "buy" button.

On the road trip I just got back from, we actually used the old HAZtraks since I can't use the new RS on my old phone. We could see our elevation changes as we drove up the Beartooth and other areas. Wayne would like to know the elevation at different times as he was driving the 34ft RV. It will be interesting to compare the two.
For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.

Probably, I run two versions of RS on occasion. Shouldn't take much extra battery since the gps is already on.

iTunes approved the latest 2.0.26 version for RS in 1.7 days :o

2.0.26
- fixes incorrect zero split stats
- keeps iOS from stopping during breaks ( tests okay on simulator & iPad... not holding my breath due to history )
- app notes on the homepage to communicate better with users

Should be available by Friday morning for Android. Working on a handy new feature and didn't expect Apple to break out of their typical 6-7 day approval.

7 days, source 1 - http://appreviewtimes.com/
7 days, source 2 - http://appkpi.com/reports/app-store-review-time

Per usual, the first post in this thread is continuously updated.

Hmmm... I thought the '80 mile track limit' from HAZ Tracks was done away with on Route Scout but when I was about to import a file I got the message "over 60 mile import limit"

Yo CD Kid!

The deal is that while RS can handle a lot more data there are still limitations on what various devices can project. Maps are stacked transparent layers with objects on them that you see as one map. Each time the map moves more calculations than to fly the Apollo are required to project what you see.

RS was originally released without a limit. It tested fine in high data point tests. Later found out the factor of coverage was overlooked.

Fear not, ideas to get around that limit are churning.

@Widowmaker
Are you talking about Route Scout or HAZ? Here on HAZ your stats are based on triplogs. Even if you hide your triplogs, the stats show up in your totals. Routes don't affect stats at all, whether posted, hidden, or not posted at all.
