I’m looking for a partner for some long day hikes, or perhaps 1-3 nighters, anywhere between Phoenix and Tucson. I’m experienced hiker with lots of time in the desert; never camped in the desert however. I’m out of state and flexible on timing ... note I enjoy the heat and have numerous desert hikes in the high summer.
I’m in my 50’s, male, former military officer, average 2-3 mph when hiking but happy with frequent stops. A good day is 10-15 miles depending on heat, elevation, and mood.
I’ve done plenty of solo hiking; safety, however, is my primary motivation for wanting a partner. AZT passages and Arivaipa Canyon both on the bucket list!

Re: Hiking partner
Besides AZT and Arivaipa hiking, what hikes are you looking at? Also, since you're out of state, when? I'm flexible, but depending on the hike prefer warmer. Some in the state won't hike above 70 degrees. Others, hate it below 90, but they're rare.

Re: Hiking partner
In general people seem to do best to meet new people on HAZ by posting a group event for a specific hike on a specific day, but I hope you can find a partner!
