Who is Teva Joe?

The man, the mystery...
I probably should have left this topic for bryan but hey, I got here first. (he's probably still at the bar harrasing the waitress

)
It ocurred to us that none of us have actually met the man behind the site. In fact, several rumors have surfaced. Some say he doesn't even exist and there are those who say he's been hiding in a cave in Afganistan for the past 13 years, my personal favorite though; he's been holed up in Australia learning aboriginal knot tying techniques.
Of course when Billy showed up and said she had actually hiked with the mythical 'Joe' we couldn't believe it.
The truth is out there...

GASP!!!! I'm so gullible!!! hmmm *glaring at pfredricks now* Do you work for a New York newspaper, you know the one the reporter made up all the stuff for 6 mths??? HAHAHAHA
I better take off my rose colored aka sunglasses

and keep an eye out for the elusive Teva Joe for myself.
Thanks Matt for the tip!
*still glaring at pfredricks* hahaha

pfredricks is SOOO modest
he fed the beast, lent the beast his water pump & carried the beast's hiking poles
That's okay, wait 'til I post my photos later... ol' pete' will be sorry he ever met the beast
Let me just say, somebody has an odd fascination for rocks. I nearly busted a gut laughing!
coming in a few hours... oh the agony of waiting

Like Pfredricks I saw glimpses all day but the legendary one was too fast for the human eye. When I was swimming the liquid pool of ice something tried to pull me under and tied my shoe laces together. I saw something in the tree tops, something staring out the door of the Indian ruins. I thought I was going mad, it was as if the door to another dimension was opening and closing.
I just reached a deal with the National Enquirer, to publish the photo on this weeks cover.
Government agents have been debriefing me all day, telling me that what I saw was a weather ballon

I just had to resurrect this 6 + year old thread. I was searching for something about teva's awhile back and it came up. I thought it was pretty funny.

I'd like to point out that everyone who claimed to have seen Joe no longer frequents the site, and the rest of us have still never seen him...
Joe Bartels; the man, the myth...

If you find the elusive Teva tracks, you may be able to follow them to the source, but you have to get up early and go a long way to do it...

I've actually seen him in person.
I gotta say I was a little more than disapointed. He was only average height, his voice didn't boom like monsoon thunder, and the animals didn't flock to his side. In fact, on the
Brown's Cave Hike, he had to physically wrestle the attacking mountain lion to subdue him instead of just singing him to sleep. Oh, he still sang during the fisticuffs, but it only made the lion madder and frankly who could blame?
Fun fact- a mountain lion's heart can still beat long after being removed from its chest.

I don't know who Joe Bartels is, but does it help that I know he once stood on the Rim Vista trail in the rain (almost 11 years ago!) ?
