Maybe it is a generational thing, but I don't get this "gender reveal" thing. We're living in strange, new times. How many fires are going to be set by fireworks and explosions, just to tell your family the observed genitals on an ultra sound? In my day, we did it the right way:

There should be a small single propeller plane following with a banner " Forget your college fund; a portion of mom and dad's paycheck garnished for their lifetime for a token payment of what this will cost".
