Taking Scouts to Cabin Loop Trail:
1. How is parking at General Springs for 6 cars?
2. How far is coyote spring once you get on Barber Shop Trail after leaving Houston Brothers trail?
3. Other good camp/water sources? Three nights/four days trip.

Piece of cake!
I thought that would have been fixed by now, but it probably hasn't been a priority.

I'm also surprised that some yahoo hasn't gotten stuck trying to drive across it.

If the Cabin Loop is in Coconino NF like I think it is, better get it in quick or pray for some gully washing rain!!! Tonto may not be alone.

Coconino is not particularly dry currently. High elevation pine forests are still living off a pretty good winter. CNF typically manages the Red Rock District differently than the higher elevation districts. While RR entered restrictions earlier than the rest of the forest this year, even RR isn't closed yet (the notable exception being Fossil Creek). As far as I know, there has not been a fire on CNF this season that exceeded 6 acres in size. Parts of the forest have even received rain in the past week.

In the past CNF has closed Milk Ranch Point due to it's proximity to Pine and Strawberry, and even that has not happened yet.

I'm not a forest manager, but I'd be surprised to see a large-scale closure on the Coconino this year.

Just sayin'... I was having a conversation with a Volunteer yesterday and she brought it up. Just one person saying it, but she was pretty serious about CNF being serious. Don't be surprised if it happens. It only takes one fire to go up to 200,000 acres apparently. They might be gun shy seeing what Tonto is going through.

Both of you have brought up good discussion points. I'd have thought the Coke would have been closed by now, but as Chumley pointed out, it isn't all that dry in most areas.

Meanwhile, Ducey is imploring us to stay home and watch Netflix. I just watched a live press conference. I was hoping he'd say to get out and go backpacking, but he didn't. No stay at home order, though.

We were caught in the shower last weekend on the rim, everything got a nice little drink.
