What is your favorite and why?

I'm with Lizard on this one. Blue ridge ot the highline. I have done the entire highline trail 6 times. I rarely saw people. Beautiful land. Big lake area is real nice too!

I love Bear Wallow. Excellent old growth forest. Thanks for pointing me to the Blue info.

Very beautiful area and like you say it has gotten crowded. Here is a photo I captured last year about this time. I don't think it is quite as green this year somehow.

Spent a summer up there - if you were to press me I would admit there are more fun hikes and some places have more beautiful spots, but that area always holds a special place in my heart. It's where I first truly got to love the outdoors, where I got a true appreciation of the majesty of this earth.

I read once that there are certain places that are sacred to certain people, whether because of religious or personal significance - usually surrounding one or several very poingant and special events.

That area is sacred to me. There are several places that also fall into that category, but that one stands out.
