OK... We live in the desert ( most of us ).... For some reason or another we are here.

It hasnt rained yet this year.
We cannot enjoy most of the state due to drought.
We cant really go outside for more than an hour due to the extreme heat.
We may be facing rolling blackouts this year to due energy cunsumption.
Vanilla Coke is nasty.

But would you trade it all to live somewhere else?

Nope... Not me!

You?

If you knew some of the stuff I've seen them eat, you'd rethink that

Yeah, you're right, I probably would be amazed by what they'd eat! We have a cat; the definition of "picky eater" has her picture by it.

No way am I goin' out side....sucker might think I'm green food!

OK, back on topic....gotta keep the webmaster happy!

I moved to the Land of AZ in April of last year from Walnut Creek, in the SF Bay Area. Don't think you can find too many places with such opposite environments, climate, etc. And I love it here! Love the golf, though I haven't been doin' much of that because HAZ has got me hooked on hiking; love the hiking! Reason I started hiking here is that I walked the golf courses back in CA; can't really do that here 'cause of the heat, so I was riding around in my golf cart sittin' on my fat a** instead. Was really getting out of shape, so looked around and found the White Tanks and started hiking there at least once a week. Then I found HAZ and HAZ got me hanging out with bad company, e.g. Fritzski, GTG and the like. Well, they introduced me to the Eastern Superstitions and I ain't been the same since. Just wish they were closer! Grand Canyon....been there three times and will be back again in August and again in Oct. Loading up the motorhome and leaving next Thursday....first stop: Canyon De Chelly then on to Yellowstone with, maybe, stops at Zion and Bryce. All of this 'cause I moved to The Land of AZ little over a year ago. Nope, wouldn't trade!

People, people.... Seriously now:

Rc cola? Blah

What could possibly be better than a cold can of coke classic... Im addicted to it like people need thier morning coffee.....

As far as the ORIGINAL topic, I have been to every state in the union except for new england ( nothing north of new York State ). Other than Alaska, There is nothing more diverse and rugged as Arizona and I would not trade it for anything.

So lets form a circle, beat the drums and do some rain dancing!

Smoking something...

No argument from me! One of my favorite things as a child was riding with my grandfather down the road to my great-uncle's little country store to get a cold Dr. Pepper. That was back when they came in those bottles with the clock face on them! That was the real Dr. Pepper, it's still good, but it doesn't taste like it used to!

But, as far as cola drinks go, PEPSI RULES!!

RC Cola

A few years ago I worked for a contractor in Bloomington Minnesota who also had a bottling business. He decided the world needed a premium cola so he put his bottling people to work on it. As I remember he called it Split Rock Cola after a lighthouse on Lake Superior.

Despite everyones advice to the contrary, he ended up marketing the damned stuff and lost a bundle. Where was I . . . oh yea, he used to make us get involved in weekly tastings in the conference room, the results were always the same. Now keep in mind the participants always included die hard Pepsi drinkers and people who swore that Coke was indeed the real thing. RC Cola was always 1st, Double Cola always came in 2nd, Pepsi 3rd and Coke last. Everyone swore that they had picked their favorites but it always seemed to end up being RC. the chemist said it was because RC and Double Cola used cane sugar and Pepsi and Coke used Fruitose. Bye the way, Split Rock Cola always came in dead last.

I used to drink RC Diet but I'm into Pepsi One now.

I don't drink cola or the old soft drinks anymore.

When the heat gets up real high and you want to grab something real cold, I urge all you non beleivers to try Trader Joe's Premium Draft Style Vanilla Cream Soda, hand crafted with Madagascar Vanilla Beans. It is rich and creamy. :P That is a thirst quenching, revivifying interlude of pure pleasure.

Gee, I wonder why...

Cause it's NOT bottled by COKE anymore

They sold the name but not the formula :!:
That's why nobody in their right mind would be a "pepper" anymore!

It's prune juice anyways.... ICKY!

and you thought it was cherries!

A-1 steak sauce is RASIN juice.... ICKY! Read the label folks!

I thought of you today Mike, I was hiking out at Usery and noticed that the beverage dispenser carries not only RC Cola, but Diet RC Cola :!: and although I was out of h2o and totally thirsty...I drove down Ellsworth to the gas station and bought a big gulp of diet pepsi.

I haven't heard that name in a long time! They still around?

I very seldom drink soft drinks anymore. Mostly coffee, wine (my father-in-law is from Italy, what can I say...), and water. I try to drink and eat healthy. Now, excuse me while I get another Fat Tire out of the fridge... :P
