Trans Supes hike II April 25-27 FIRM DATES

the trans Supes hike last november was a great success! everyone attended and completed the 47 mile trek in great spirits.
carrying on the *new* tradition of the great annual Trans Supes hikes, this one is going to shift gears a little and begin in Spring this year. We will be travelling in a large loop starting and ending at Miles trailhead- we're looking at 11-12 miles per day over some fairly rough terrain. Leaving for the hike on Friday morning and returning by Sunday evening. I suggest experienced hikers only sign up. Lets get this ball rolling!

I might be able to attend this one as well. My birthday is the 17th so it would be a fun little present to myself for missing the last trans-supes epic. The three day would work better for me as well, being that I will have 2 travel days attached to the trip. I will talk to the owner of my restaurant tomorrow and see if I could get some time off.

I'll put me down as interested, but, as things stand, I'm planning on a Pacific Crest Trail start of April 15th. :D So I'd be in Tahoe prepping gear and getting my Angel up to speed for a while before that.

Mike, you described the Supes as a veritable water wonderland after the recent rains. I'm surprised you wouldn't set this up for late Feb or March both for temperature and water.

it would seem so, Kurt. the guys Ive talked to in person think that fri, sat, sun are the easiest days for sneaking out of work. hope it wont interfere w/ the Chevelon creek trip. I want to do that one as well. btw, the projected dates will be a full moon. :D

I'll stay tuned, but I'm probably out. My grandfather's 100th birthday party is now scheduled for the 19th.

nope, merely projected. I have received a few PM's regarding these dates, and the authors were fairly open to changing to +/- a week or two. Sometime in the month of April is good. thats all I know so far. Im intersted to learn if you simply forgot to add the "e" to your screen name. As in "keg molson" :D
stay tuned, offer input and expect a great time. we're trying to satisfy everyone to have the largest possible turnout.

People are going to be wishy washy until a date is picked firmly. I think it's close enough to finalize it, so while the weekend of the 20th is best for me I may be able to swing it one week later.

Also, what is the planned hike, there were alot of great ideas thrown around, so I think we need to pick one.

I concur. If I am going to be able to make this one I need to know ASAP. Plane tickets and work coverage are definite issues. Plus its cold here. :o I need some desert.

seems like a solid date. Start at Miles trailhead and camp at Angel Basin -12.7mi- From there, hike up Frog Tanks trail, past Reavis Ranch, on to the Reavis Gap/Two bar intersection -11.4- (optional fill up at Pine Creek, or Walnut Spr.) Day 3 we hike the remainder of Reavis Gap trail to Campaign trail all the way back to the Miles Trailhead. -12.9-
this hike requires no shuttle
it will follow a big loop- but in higher elevations for cooler weather in late April.
follows some trails that many of us want to finish. Its all good.

It's either go on the 4 day trip, or write a 26 page paper, so I'm actually taking the easy way out in my opinion (Somehow 22 miles and 4 days equals 26 pages according to my teacher)

I'll stay tuned in case there's any last-minute date shifts, but it looks like I'll be watching for a fall trip.
