HAZ appreciation

Don't mean to :bdh: but every now and again it is good and proper to thank Joe for providing us with such a great place to come together for the exchange of knowledge, information, ideas, experiences and everything else related to hiking Arizona (and beyond). Just go to google and search "California hiking" or "Utah hiking". None of our neighbors have anything that compares to the wealth of knowledge found on our beloved HAZ. I feel fortunate that I don't have to settle for

summitpost to get my fix. Summitpost is nice and all, but it's just so focused on the incredibly advanced. Sometimes you have two hours at your disposal with people that want minimal effort in their nature experience and POOF...HAZ provides the quick, necessary info to make the most of your trip. There's plenty of variety for my hiking needs, and I sure appreciate that!

Much thanks from the Northern Reaches. I don't know how I'd manage as much in the outdoors without HAZ.

It took finding HAZ for my passion for hiking to be totally fueled. It only keeps growing. Thanks Joe, and to all those posting here on HAZ that makes this such a GREAT site!!!

Simply put Joe is good people! I have had some of my best life adventures with him. I love to read over our triplogs and remember all of the fun we had! He is intelligent, yet humble and he is not someone that is afraid to say I don't know. He doesn't treat me like a helpless girl, he keeps an incredible pace and often will force me to push myself to be faster and stronger. Somebody recently said to me "It's great that you are willing to hike these tough hikes with him." The thing is, it's not that I am willing to, I HAVE TO! Joe has been someone that has taken me on as a hiking buddy when others wouldn't take me seriously; I am absolutely excited for all of our adventures to come! From the bottom of my hiking shoes (and my heart)I'd like to say:
THANK YOU; FOR ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME, AND ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR AZ HIKERS!!!

This is the time of year that many people remember the mailman or paper boy with a gift of money. Don't forget to support your website with a contribution. Long live HAZ !

A good reminder. Thanks for bringing it up at this giving time of year.

I like the random little things that catch me by surprise and I get a chuckle out of.
From kokopelli names to witty descriptions. Today I saw on the homepage "Thanks for particpiating. Staring is creepy."

One thing I like about our site, is the feed back you will get in the forum when someone new asks a question. Yes, long established members have their issues with each other, or me, or whomever, but when a new person logs on and asks a specific question, there are at least a few members who answer in a helpful way. Even if someone does little more than point out how to use the traildex, I don't think I ever see someone get ignored here.
I post this, becuase I was asking a question on another site that was specific to that location, and despite over 200 views, the question was completely ignored. I guess the site is really a clique meeting ground for locals only.

Maybe you should ask the question here too. You never know what some random HAZ lurker might have the answer to.

OK. It was just that I don't expect and HAZ forum readers or posters have been over to C2C in a long time.
