Rick successfully had a lesion removed from his Larynx this morning. It was indeed cancerous, but of a variety rated as T2. The surgeon is certain he was able to remove the growth intact. Rick’s voice will be hoarse for a few weeks, but with that exception, everything should be back to normal shortly.
You should know that Rick talks to strangers in Wal-Marts, Home Depots, or Albertsons, LOL. He once woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me a story about the Salvation Army, the oration lasted for 2 hours. In other words, Rick loves to talk, and his voice is important to him.
I’ve not read any of the notes / letters that were written to Rick until this morning. I’m truly impressed and amazed at the thoughts expressed. I thought he was interested in a hiking forum, I had no idea he was getting this type of support and encouragement from people like you. I assure you it has been an important part of keeping his spirits up.
I fully intend to have a celebration at our place in August, everyone is invited, details to follow. Yes, Rick babbles on and on, but I'd rather listen to his babble than to his silence.
A million thanks to all, make that a billion,
Miss Rick
