Kendrick loop day hike - Friday, July 31

OK, I'm seeing a lot of people posting interest in Friday hikes...in addition to myself and a few buddies who also have Fridays off oftentimes. Let's give it a shot...who's in for a day hike on Friday the 31st? Post interest here, and places of interest.

I've been interested in checking off another chunk of the Highline Trail...I've done See Canyon TH to 260 TH, but want to do everything else west of See Canyon TH. Mostly, I think what would be ideal is somewhere within a couple of hours drive tops from Phoenix so the heat won't be totally unbearable (100 or less)

I can leave really early too, but can't do Thursday night. If some want to do that and meet us, though, that's cool. With the elevation, which will take (some of ;) ) us longer, we can leave at 3am I guess ... as long as you don't mind a sleeper in the backseat bumming a ride!

It looks like this will be a very long day….. 17 hr or so. ( 3.5+3.5travel + 10 hiking) :scared: :scared:

I wonder if it is all doable in one day. Maybe we should shorten the hike or change it all together… re-group and re-think.

Not backing out, just looking at it from the different angle. :wrt:

Based on your last hike (Plateau Point 1.6 miles in 3 minutes)... you should finish this hike in less than an hour. :)

1.6 miles in 3 minutes is hauling :sl: ;)

It also says that my hike speed is 0 MPH Average and I run 18.4 MPH Average – I am good. : king :

So, if you are planning to leave at 3am, what time do you go to sleep?

Bob's Death March, Round Dos. I really want to do this one, but I don't think my MBA group would be too happy if I showed up smelling like a farm animal, and with zero preparation for our project. I'm going to try to do this puppy in August, and I'll post it.

agreed... bob's death march 2.0... at some point there will be bob's afterlife march... because he is going to eventually kill one of us.

I am thinking on driving up there the night before, all depending on the forecast.

I am not as good as Joe, and can’t do 18 mile hike on 4-hrs of sleep.

well... i can drive, but once we hit dirt roads, i will need to jump out of my car. no way am i taking the honda on a 4 hour drive and no way i'm risking the CV boots on dirt and dry air out here in my VW. i know exactly how expensive they are to replace! :(

correction Tortoise... That's why he is the cyborg the Legend.

Actually it was Joe's suggestion of a hike I wanted to do this closer to the death march that you have planned that Jim originally planned ;) ;)
