Hey Girls,
I know we all mentioned a girls hike last spring and I was wondering if anyone is ready to start planning a hike up in the cool country now that its open. I'll drive and can haul 4 plus myself. I don't have a great date yet but am working towards a Sat in August.
Let me know if your interested and what dates might work for you.

Actually, I believe the line is "Y'all hear that? We's usin' code names!".

I got the message about the new date and time. Unfortunately, I will be unavailable that day. I would still like to stay on your list to do future hikes though! I am also interested in doing hikes during the week, especially on Fridays if anyone is available.

Hi Everyone,
The HAZ girls had a great day in the cool mountain air last Sunday. Check out Paintnaz's trail description on the hike

We stopped at the Strawberry Cafe for pie on the way out just to stay a little longer, very tasty!
It was great to see everyone again. MaryPhyl, let us know how the camping went.

Let's see... Cindy and I stayed in the shade. I read my book in my slinglight and we chatted. Later on I filtered water. I had a gravity flow filter which I had not used before so that was a minor challenge. I watched humming birds sip from every flower. Robert was vary late getting there. Cindy and I had given up on him and had packed it up and started to hike out when he got there. He had Johnny our grandson but no Kate--she had gone shopping with an aunt and did not get back. Cindy had intended to go out early in the morning so since she was up the trail aways she hiked on out. We ate really salty mac and cheese. Robert slept with John in the tent and I slept out. Robert assured John that his sister was sad and missing him too which made him feel better.
Next morning Robert taught John how to cast a fishing line and the two of them swam. The crawdads were easily run off. We hiked out mid afternoon. Johnny did real well.
The reason I went on this hike was to see if I could. I did much better than I had expected both down and out. I'm looking for other really short hikes if anyone has ideas.
It was great meeting everyone--now I can put faces to names
