LED Flashlights & Headlights

Have any of you tried the Led Flashlights or headlights for nighthikes or general use? I've been using a single Led flashlight for a while & like it a lot. Not much illumination but the Led will last for thousands of hours & the batteries are supposed to last up to 20 times longer. I've been considering a multiple Led flashlight or headlight & wondered about actual experiences from you.

The TIKKA is a good headlamp, but if I may, I would also suggest considering the Princeton TEC Aurora. (BOTH are LED models)
This headlamp has four features that the TIKKA doesnt ( I think)
1. It is waterproof
2. You can adjust the angle of the beam up and down (very nice feature)
3.You can dim the lights (making it much nicer to read and work around camp with and that conserves power)
4.Princeton Tec lifetime warranty vs petzl 3 yr
The LED's are not as nice to hike at night with, but sufficient, and for lightweight backpacking can't be beat for battery life and weight advantages.
BOth the Aurora and the Tikka are rated at about 160 hours vs. standard bulbs (usually 6-10hrs)

I agree with you. The Gemini is my light of choice. I use it for search and rescue. Low beam is perfect for trail running and the high beam is brighter then most hand held flashlights.
I haven't seen any head lamps that advertise the 1000 hours of battery life the Gemini has, and none comparable in size/weight can match the brightness the high beam provides. It's also weatherproof, durable, and comfortable.
It may weigh an ounce or two more then most of the LED only flashlights, but you won't need any other flashlights in your back if you bring this one, thus it saves weight overall.
