Jim, how much money do you have to spend? You could choose to get schnockered at Bourbon Street (the one in PHX, not NOLA). The views are usually stunning. But it'll cost you!

I think Cave Springs might still be snowed-in for Spring Break. I'd say go to Death Valley or do the Vegas area outdoors thing with the Bellagio as base camp so you can get snockered after a long day of hiking and sleep in a really nice bed.

If we're combining schnockered and hiking... I say explore the northern Bradshaws and the Big Bug Mesa area and use Whiskey Row as base camp.

re: Cave Springs
It's supposed to open March 15, but we'll see. If the weather stays like this between now and then there should be no problemo

I should have known that being the creepy 35-year-old guy in Rocky Point would do well in the polling. Looking more and more like a trip to the Santa Catalinas is in order.

The HAZ nation has spoken! And will be ignored! I'm NOT going to Rocky Point to be the creepy, drunken 35-year-old. My plan is to go to the Santa Catalinas to do some camping and hiking. That may change based upon the weather because it looks like snow may be a problem a week from now.
Tentative plan:
Sunday March 14: Hike Romero Canyon with the Stiller and whoever else decides to roll out, then head to General Hitchcock CG to camp overnight
Monday: either Bug Springs or Green Mountain trails from the campground
Tuesday: big hike either Red Ridge or Oracle Ridge to Canada del Oro then back via the Lemmon, Meadow, Aspen Draw, and Sabino Canyon Riparian trails (bringing the gaiters for the 2nd half of this one)
Wednesday: Easy hike. Maybe Butterfly trail, but it might be too snowy.
If I'm really ambitious I'll do the Palisades-Box Camp semi-loop (hope I can make it between the 2 traillheads under the power lines).
Thursday-Sunday: House-sit @ my mom's with a grip of beer and a hot tub in front of the NCAA Tournament

It's a good thing you're tall cause the snow base is about 8 feet up top. The photos oughta be good!

Bring snowshoes!
I have hiked most of those trails you mentioned. Should be fun, if they are hikeable. It will be extremely easy to get off-trail, though, in the snow. A lot of those routes are very brushy and hard to follow even in the driest conditions.

Are you sure you don't want to do Grand Gulch? We've got two open spots left!

I'm going to channel my inner Jim_H. Perhaps I'll take my Nordic skis? More realistically I'll do some lower-elevation hikes, but still channel my inner Jim_H as I look up at the Santa Catalinas doing their best impersonation of the Swiss Alps.

You might want to check out 7 falls, although it's a very popular hike. Maybe you could do it early on a weekday morning and miss some of the crowds, then go on up Bear Canyon and come back via Sabino. But if you have never seen 7 falls, now's the time, since it will have actual water!

I've been to Seven Falls a few times. Good place to people-watch. I've wanted to get up to the Window for a long time so that's looking like a good option
