is celebrating it's 2nd Birthday/Anniversary May 21-23 up at Showers Point on Mt. Lemmon. If you're interested in meeting some of the folks from that club, getting to know a few others better, or just hanging out with some awesome hikers, consider joining us. We will likely have a few day hikes in the surrounding hills (of varying difficulty) as well as other fun activities planned - so come on out, we'll have a great time!

If I knew any backpackers up here I wouldn't be asking. I do know a couple of guys, but they are not group joiners--they are solo types. I don't think there are very many, other than the Scout troops that do stuff in the summer.

I am going to the TRACKS hiking club meeting on Sat. in Pinetop. I think there may be one or two backpackers in that group as well.

I am unfortunately out, I have a friend who will be moving, so I need to spend time with her. Have a great time!!

Well, I have a good friend who is getting married and she asked me to be wedding photographer for her last minute. The person who was helping her out was a friend of the family who canceled last minute. Her wedding is on Saturday the 22nd, so I am not going to be able to make this event.

I really wanted to go so I could meet everyone from the Backpacking group. I have already met people from Friends Hiking Club and gone on some hikes with HAZers, but I have yet to meet the AZ Backpackers. I will just have to pick another event I guess.

I will be there with Mr. Sirena for Saturday evening. Looking forward to it!

I've still got a few fence-sitters on this one... If you can't make the weekend, head up Saturday morning for my Wilderness of Rocks loop hike, or Sunday for the trip out to Sycamore Reservoir. Or, come by Sat. evening like our lovely Sirena and check out the fire-side action, the cooking and beverage competitions, or laugh at folks trying to do a backpacking obstacle course!
