2 Missing Utah Hiker's Bodies Found in Superstitons

Apparently 2 of the 3 bodies of hikers that went missing last summer have been found. The group I was hiking with today at First Water Trailhead watched as MCSO brought them in. From information I could gather it sounded like foul play not lost and out of water as we first thought. :scared:

With enough determination, defined as information ascertained / (stupidity x ego), you never know how far they may have gotten. Once the story fills in it will be interesting to find out the general area where, which may give us an idea of what information was ascertained... as in, Merworth's information as to the likely location of the LDM (Lost Dutchman Mine). However, where they are found (if in fact the remains are from this group) may not mean anything. If foul play is involved, who knows if they had been forced to go somewhere out of their original intended location.

But... :STP:
Since we are just speculating here... how 'bout we share some thoughts here...
Where do you think they were found and why do you think that?

I think the highest likelihood of the area they intended to go was Peter's Mesa, followed a ways behind by West Boulder Canyon. I'm basing that on my deductions gleaned from The Bible on the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine and Jacob Waltz: A Pioneer History of the Gold Rush (Prospecting and Treasure Hunting)

How about you Te-wa? What gave you the idea it may have been Trap Canyon?

One last thing... where could they have been that of all the searching for so long (I did half a dozen of off-trail searches of my own in the last 6 months) turned up nothing yet a hiker found them now. I'm thinking the hiker was off-trail at the time as well.

Anybody else want to throw out their choice likely LDM location?
Without revealing the exact location of where you've been searching for the LDM, of course. 8-[
Shall we :bdh: a for just a bit? (< Weird... looks to me more like a dead mule than a horse, which may be appropriate as mules are much more stubborn than horses!)

The wallet matches and they were in the right general area.

I read on desertusa.com on the forum board the 3rd guy was found this weekend by a hiker in the same area.

@Vaporman That what the AJ News article says. Given the traffic on the Black Mesa Loop, I wonder how many people passed within a half mile of them in the last six months.

The AJ News article is quite accurate. And, the 3rd body was found less than 100 yards from the other two on Yellow Peak. It is amazing that they were found at all, considering how very few people ever go up there. The bodies were not ravaged by animals, either, which is also surprising.
