I miss the Superstitions and I haven't managed to do a night hike this summer yet. Bring your headlamp. Meet at Peralta at 7pm.

perfect, we know that way best, I am not off work until 6 on saturday and i work in downtown phx so will pick up my partner in crime and head out, it shouldn't take us an hour to get there but don't be afraid to leave without us we'll catch up to the group eventually....unless you're the only one that shows up at the trailhead

...then wait for us, we will be there!

Ok so I'm considering joining up on this. But what kind of a "night hike" starts at 7pm? It's still 105 degrees and the sun hasn't even set yet!

Whoah! Complaining before the hike even starts? I thought you were a bigger man than that!
The high for Saturday is only 106 so it should be dropping by then. I figure after whoever ends up a little late and introductions are made, we won't start hiking right away and sunset is at 7:30. You'll make it up Cardiac Hill just fine if that's what you're worried about

It's gonna be fun-- just commit. You know you want to!

@Tough_Boots aka Kyle the Heartless,
That's quite a crew of misfits joining you and on the interested tab. I would be super scared to run into you guys in the dead of night.

Looks like you'll have the #'s just in case the skinheads you ran into at firstwater last year are into night ops.

Doubtful... the head honcho (J.T. Ready) murdered his girlfriend and her entire family and then committed suicide this spring. Since they figured out he was making bombs all the local Nazi's are laying low trying not to get implicated. I think we're safe-- they're all hiding under rocks.

@bart01
I don't think I've ever been labeled a misfit before. That's new one for me,

Is that because of the company that I'm considering Hiking with that night?
Anyway, most likely I will not be joining you all since I'm probably leaving that day to go camp in the WCC area for the week and do some serious water hiking.

So you guys will be down one misfit anyway.

we were guessing midnight/1am based on our last trip out there. very excited. think another gal is going to meet us out there too, she's from another site.
this oughta be exciting, hoping we have moon enough to get a good view of the Needle at night! :worthy:

For a minute, I thought I'd be able to pull it off, but that's definitely too late for me. Bummer!

The moon sets at 1:02, so if there's no monsoon cloudiness then there should be light most of the way. Peralta should be fully "shaded" on the way back though.

At the risk of sounding like I'm complaining, I'd like to point out how ridiculously humid it is today. Just sayin. :yuck:

@chumley
I thought it felt pleasant outside. I admit I was raised in Georgia, though.

So, I'd move myself into the committed column, but HAZ seems to think that this event already occurred. Can I just post a triplog and call it done?
It's raining out there right now, which should hopefully cool things down a few degrees, but it will probably make it even more humid. Looks like there may even be some showers lingering into the evening. That's my kind of hiking!
