This hike will be into Haunted Canyon with the destination of the camp spot near Tony Cabin. Start time is 9:00AM at the Haunted Canyon Trailhead. It will be a Spooktacular event and Costumes are HIGHLY encouraged. Once there we can enjoy the area for awhile, eat lunch and hunt for "The Cave of a Thousand Eyes". Round Trip is a little under 12 miles and around 1600 feet of AEG.

This is a Wilderness so group size must be capped at 15.

There will be one spot that has washed out a little you may have to creep over but it should be fine I saw a mini van out there last time

when y'all return back towards the t/h, stay in canyon bottom where the trail goes upwards onto the hillside.. there is an interesting narrow and pools of water (might require a wade/swim) but it is worth a look. come to think of it, might the weather lean towards the warm side, that swimming hole might be a nice payoff. have fun!

Do you guys plan on heading into upper haunted canyon or are you guys just going to look around in the lower section ?

My plan was just to go to the camp site near Tony Cabin but whatever works is fine with me.

Speaking for myself and the contingency at the canyon this weekend, you will have some company, several of us plan on staying over night I believe...

I would like to hike in/out Saturday as I need to be back in Phoenix by 7pm. Is that possible or does most of you plan on staying in later or camp? Thx ;)

Some plan on staying and camping. I will be returning to Phoenix the same day and certainly before 7pm. Well I guess it depends on how long it take me to eat at Los Hermanos.

Car pooling?

I plan on backpacking in on Friday morning and stay until Sunday.

Bruce is riding along with me. I have room for two more if anyone else wants to join in? Again I will be returning that day.
