ADOT has opened a couple of additional miles of SR88 to the Reavis TH is now accessible by vehicles. This is from the Apache Lake side. This is great news, I've been waiting for them to open that portion back up. Guess I know where I will be headed soon. lol

Wow, that's great news! I've hiked that stretch of trail too many times, but it's been long enough that I might be ready to do it again.

It appears that the remaining closed portion is open to foot, horse, bicycle, and UTV traffic.

It's the status link off the link given above, https://azdot.gov/projects/southeast-di ... ache-trail
Fish Creek Hill Overlook/Rest Area (milepost 222) to milepost 227 (near Reavis Trailhead Road) - Closed to traffic; UTVs, equestrians, hikers and bicyclists allowed

Ah, I misinterpred the text and missed the sidebar box altogether! ](*,) Thanks!

I'm surprised they "officially" allow UTVs and equestrians on FCH. I'm not sure I'd enjoy riding either one through there! Also of note is that the indicated access to this stretch is apparently only via the east side as the gate at the FCH overlook does not provide enough width for either equestrians nor UTVs to pass through. Hikers and cyclists have been accessing FCH from the overlook since shortly after the fire closure area was rescinded.
