Route Scout Gaps in GPS Data - Android

I noticed HAZ Tracks did this a few times and I just tried out Route Scout after the "loading" issue and noticed it too now on that, but every now and then my route will just have a straight line as opposed to following the route, I'm assuming because it loses the signal. In hindsight I did have my phone in snow pants today so maybe that caused it? Either way, is there a way to minimize or eliminate this effect? I'm planning on doing the AZT this March and am hoping my whole route gets recorded.

Thanks!

For what it's worth, the half hour boot up (Android upgrade?) of my phone on Saturday has me on Android 5.1, not the Marshmallow version of Android (version 6.0).

2.1.16 for Android is available on Google Play.

Do not get too excited...
- major changes have been made to keep the app alive while recording
- target operation for Android is no more than a couple minutes hiking data lost after stopping
- it will take more testing to fine tune, just needed to release this version to see if it's any better for others

Definitely still not working.

There is good news, I have isolated the issue! Anticipating a fix in the next 5-7 days.

Route Scout 3.0.0 - just went live on Google Play

tested all morning - SUCCESS
backgrounded, used other apps, took photos, used the internet, turned airplane mode on and off, even closed the app while recording and it reloaded

The push notice ( notification bar on locked screen ) is temporarily gone and will be back on the next release.
