@The Eagle
Happy to make a basket of those for you anytime Eagle. We always have a pot of fresh butter on the stove. Putting a scoop over the chips for you would be no problem at all.

@Widowmaker
Duh! Just kidding. There are several good spots. Guedos, Si Senior, Chalos, Original Serranos, Elmers, El Zocalo, and some place on Chandler Blvd just east of the 101.

I moved to Deer Valley and I have been disappointed with pretty much every restaurant out here.

Not Mexican food per se, but tried
Porter's Café in old town Superior yesterday in-route from Sierra Anchas - very friendly, well-run, with good, albeit simple food and
above average craft beer selection
. Nice patio, too with live acoustic music from time-to-time. Patio is open to well-behaved dogs, too.

Not food related, but if one was to spend 3 to 4 nights a week lodging in Globe, AZ, over the next few months, what would you recommend. Better to go low, or high?

@Jim_H I haven't tried any of the incredibly cheap places, but I've stayed at El Rey Motel a handful of times. It's pretty far from deluxe, but it's always very clean.

I have stayed at the Belle-Aire Motel. Decent, inexpensive old place with friendly staff. Nothing fancy, just the basics. Quiet, unlike say the Motel 6.

What is it with Mexican food places in globe and the use of butter? I had a burro at chalo's last night coated in butter (still delicious btw, chalo's is still my favorite) and then I got a tortilla this morning at breakfast at el ranchito soaking with butter. Someone please explain this phenomenon. Years ago I was grossed out by the amount of butter at Libby's. It must be a globe thing?

Jack and and I had chicken chimichangas at El Ranchito Wednesday, so can't tell you if they use butter on their burros. Food was very good (I picked it due to Yelp reviews). From what I understand Chalos has changed hands. You are right, it must be a Globe thing. Some like it, I do not. Most of the Mexican restaurants in Globe are very good imo, with the exception of Guayos on the Trail.

It is a Globe thing.
I don't think La Casita on Broad Street (downtown) uses butter on their burros, though. Good food there, and open on Sunday, unlike Chalos.

Is this place still operating? I'm looking for a new place to try.
