Tell me about it, 78 degrees never felt so good when I was out running this morning.

Highway opened up just long enough for my wife to get home and is now closed again.

4.04" rain in the last 1 hr. at Fort Carson. .6" in the last 5 minutes. :o Pretty much everything is flooded at least on the west side. I'll be surprised if my wife can make it to work maƱana. It's been raining hard for the last two hours at our house. Anybody have an ark for sale?

Seems like all the snow Colorado and other places did not get this past winter, is coming as summer rain. I hope it dries out soon.

Rain all day over here. Probably one of the wettest days and wettest 3 day periods I've seen in years. Very bizarre, for what is the driest place I have lived. It is nice to see the desert and everything else soaking up the rain, though. Long range discussion talks about a ridge and autumn like westerlies beginning to dominate by late next week, which is good, as that is exactly what I am ready to have. Next Sunday is the equinox, so even though at the farthest point from the best time of year, Spring, and heading into the Autumn and the waning of the day star, some dry weather would be greatly appreciated!

I counted 18 stations over 5" for 62-hours, and one over 8".

That's an entire year's worth at PHX!

Glorious day at Lake Mead, (South Cove and Pearce Ferry). The road from Kingman to Meadview shows signs of having had many flash floods cross it recently. I am sure the heavy equipment operators keeping very busy, and I'm sure the road must have been closed from time to time. In some places the pavement washed away.

I can testify to that! Over 5" at our place and 8" in the upper and lower Waldo Canyon gauges. 11" at Fort Carson and those are all 24 hr. totals in our area. I had to do some improvising last night and a more permanent diversion of water coming out of a downspout to ensure our terraces remain terraces and our yard didn't wash away in the creek. The creek was running pretty strong all day today despite minimal rainfall. At least in comparison to last night.

Hurricane remnants make for nice weather in the southwest, other than the flash floods.

Raining all night in some areas. Albuquerque now has wettest September of record.

There was an article in the Alamogordo news paper, yesterday, which cited the NWS as a source and stated that spots with in the city of Alamogordo had between 2.5 and 3 inches of rain over the last week, and that would really all be since Tuesday. Not sure if that was at the airport, or a collection of several spotter locations. More in the foot hills in places like Ortega Peak, and up near Cloudcroft and Sunspot. Definitely a wet week in the dry desert. I don't think we saw 3 inches of rain from the time I moved here to July 1. We've probably had all of our rain since July started and half of that in the last week.

Just remember ... most "records" cover the eternity of time we generally refer to as "the last 100 years" (and often much less).
