Sure, but no hook-ups.
*sorry, house rules
Hook-ups? I thought this is (or was) a family-friendly site......

Nonsense! I see quite clearly that you have a triplog from this year as well as photos.

Be careful what you wish for. It could realistically happen. Just be prepared when it does for the 30 comment thread on Redflex Corruption when someone posts a picture of a road.

And btw, my favorite color is green. :D

Don't feel bad. You just found it amusing as did a few other people who actually posted their favorite color. You probably did not understand the dynamic of some of the websites members. In reality, it is not a terrible thread, especially when one recognizes it was broken off from the hiking vehicle thread when discussion over vehicle color became deemed off topic. There is just a very unhappy element here among some members who intentionally look for drama.

Pam having no forum would not bother me. I have a genuine passion for writing quality triplogs and contributing descriptions and really enjoy that aspect of this page. However, by my own admission, my worst contributions to this community have undoubtedly come in the form of forum posts and I would not mind seeing it go...

Jim I was really just making a joke/comment because I noticed some post have to be approved by a moderator now. I don't feel strongly enough about the issue either way tbh, but I opened an unintended can of worms here I think, I am out!

@friendofThundergod. No hard feelings, you are not who I was thinking of.

With regard to the forum disappearing entirely, I suspected in rare cases I would not miss it. About the only utility it offers these days is attempting to find information for new areas or hikes which do not appear in the dex. Unfortunately, things often are not in the hiking Dex because it has not been visited, or visited recently.

Many people have discussed the forum activity quality diminishing in the last five to seven years as well as formerly active members disappearing. Actually, that particular subject would be a very rich topic for moderated discussion. Though I do not believe that unique to this website, site participation appears to have diminished greatly and membership activity appears to have fallen off dramatically since somewhere between 2012 and 2015. I use those years because that was when I moved from Arizona to New Mexico, and then when I moved from Tucson to Phoenix and really noticed the absence of many people who had been highly active when I was in Flagstaff or Kayenta.

A friend of mine has a freezer with a padlock on it.
I asked her, Is the padlock to keep people out?
She replied, NO, to keep people, IN.

Sometimes I pick up hitchhikers, or hitch myself, especially in National Parks when setting up a hiking shuttle (*see, this is totally hiking related!)

Last week I picked up a hitchhiker and he asked me how I knew he wasn't a serial killer. I told him the chances of two serial killers being in the same car are astronomical.

He jumped out at 45mph.

If I were partially color blind, and saw blue when it is really green, I don't know how to answer the question. I like blue but you see green.

@azlaurie This is so true! Really, what “colors” we each see may in fact be totally different from each other! 🤯

It makes me question everything. What is real, and what is just a fabrication of our imagination!?

Like birds!

The Moody Blues were pickin' up what you're throwin' down...

"Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white.
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion?"

Thanks for the link about the birds...I always had my suspicions.

I think the Moody Blues might have had some chemical influence in their inspiration. But it's still a little early in the day for me. 🤷‍♂️

I imagine that the TH will look like a garbage dump by the end of the weekend

It'll just be catching up with the rest of the forest that was already open. Or in the case of Lava Tube, not open.

In response to firefighter safety and wildfire concern, some people have called for the closing of the forests.
Hmmm why I am I getting the feeling the FS is just going to shut it all down soon? :?

Also I don’t get it, the FS guy says every time they drive by the closed Lava Tubes there are 50 cars there. So stand outside the cave wearing a mask and cite everyone who exits cave. There problem solved.
