The City of Atascadero is aware of the object's existence but it is unknown what will come of it.
I seem to recall a similar situation for those apes.

Quite a few stories floating around about these pieces of 'art' are hilarious. A good distraction for folks who are obsessing over certain news item at the moment.

The "art work" around Pima County usually includes a few broken pallets and at least one tarp as well as two to four of those "monoliths".

Caught this pic of an "Artist", "Alien" (whatever we're referring to them as now) at the grocery store the other day.

We have a lot of artistic types around Tucson, and this one was so creative as to hall his "masterpiece" around in a backward facing wheelchair, bungeed to a mini-bike.

- Used to manage a bike shop in college across the street from the U of A. Lot of those artistic types use bikes as their primary mode of transportation. Met quite a few of them. My favorite was the guy who dressed up like a WWI aviator at all times.
