HAZ off-roaders unite!

Anyone else on this site share an interest in offroading, other then by means of getting to a trailhead? Figured why not get some people together to run some trails here in AZ, like Broken Arrow, Backway to Crown King, White Canyon Wilderness etc. Nothing extreme, just fellow hikers who like to get out and wheel every once in a while, capable car with 4x4 is all that would be necessary for the most part

Hey, does two wheeling count? The ones with pedals? ...covers the same country and throws back in a touch more exercise dynamic... hard to carry quite as much beer, but when you're that tired, it doesn't take much.

Yeah, but two wheeling is best on single-track. My truck doesn't usually do so well on single-track.

Just some cruisin' on some of the roads around the four peaks area, and a trip to the backside of Bartlett Lake from the 87 which was a fun one

I was doing some equipment testing this last weekend, but nothing deep. I might try to get out over the long weekend and combine it with a hike, if possible. I have a couple things to finish up on my older truck and I was thinking of doing Charleau, again, if anyone is interested...

You seem to be really enjoying 4-wheeling since purchasing your new Jeep-Liberty. I just returned Monday evening from a 8) but very  3-day serious 4x4/camping/hiking trip on our historic ARIZONA RUG ROAD.. started Sat-5/16am at Mammoth,AZ and ended on Mon-5/18pm at Hwy 70/Aravaipa Canyon Rd(~12mls west of Safford).. more to come! :)

Offroading is what got me into hiking. I enjoy them both.
I have two rigs currently
1998 Jeep Cheroke, this is the more capable one, 3.5" RE lift, Detroit Locker rear w/32" BFG MTs plus much more
2000 Toyoyta Tacoma TRD SAWs up front and Deaver/Bilstiens in the rear w/31" BFG ATs its used for the easy trails, dunes, FRs things like that.

My jeep all patched up (for now at least) so I'm ready to hit the trails (4x4 trails that is)

Same here!......except I use a utility quad. Throw it in the back of my Toy Hauler 'n camp 'n ride different parts of AZ.
Just recently started hiking and found it to be the next step up in scenery.

Love this site and can tell I'll be using it alot.......great work!

BTW, and I hope this is OK, I have an OHV forum that is mostly for quads and dirt biking but would gladly add a catagory for 4x4's by popular demand.

I've been thinking of a trip through Box Canyon, perhaps Martinez, Coke Ovens ... something in that area one of the next few weekends here in January. Any interest?

Possibly. My weekends are filling up fast, though...
