With all of your experiences in hiking this great land, I am curious as to what is the strangest thing you have encountered whether it be animal or whatever???

Please - don't ever post another picture like that. I'm having walking nightmares even now!
I haven't been this shaken since I came face to face with a live Hoolie in the wild....

Oy my! That is scary! And that hat does look very familiar. You know I was hiking with Cakewalk this morning and other than the hat there is no resemblance unless maybe he did a lot of shaving.

looks like most of the salmon fishermen and old loggers we've been seeing up here in Oregon.
They probably would have filmed Deliverance up here on the Rogue if not for people like that.

Deliverance was filmed about 50 miles west of my hometown, right along the Georgia/South Carolina state line. I don't doubt there are some folks like that back in those hills!!

It's OK Joe, Banjo pickers thrive on abuse...
1. What is the banjo picker's favorite whine? "Play Dueling Banjos…"
2. What's the difference between a banjo and a(n)…
Chain Saw: A chain saw has a dynamic range. (or) You can turn a chain saw off.
South American Macaw: one is loud, obnoxious, and noisy; and the other is a bird.
Harley Davidson: you can tune a Harley.
Onion: no one cries when you cut up a banjo.
Trampoline: you take your shoes off to jump on a trampoline.
Uzi: an Uzi only repeats forty times.
3. How many banjo players does it take to screw in a light bulb? None: but hum a few bars and
I'll fake it.
4. What's the difference between a skunk run over on the road and a banjo player run over on the
road? You see skid marks in front of the skunk.
5. How can you tell the difference between all the banjo songs? By their names…
6. What's the best thing to play on a banjo? A flame-thrower.
For some odd reason, there are millions of banjo jokes out there, I just don't understand it

Mike...
A Mandolin player, sick of all the Mandolin jokes, decides to change his instrument. After some thought, he decides on the accordion. So he goes to the music store and says to the owner, "I'd like to look at the accordions, please." The owner gestures to a shelf in the corner and says "All our accordions are over there." After browsing, the Mandolin player says, "I think I'd like the big red one in the corner." The store owner looks at him and says, "You're a Mandolin player, aren't you?" The Mandolin player, crestfallen, says, "How did you know?" The store owner says, "That `big red accordion' is the radiator."
sorry  it's the best I could do.

If it's any consolation tho, Mandolin player could easily be interchanged with banjo, string bass or fiddle.

Did you hear about the banjo/mandolin player who won the lottery? He figured he's keep working until the money ran out.
How about the wagon train heading west? They were hearing drums in the distance day after day, and were getting very nervous. The Indian guide kept saying "Drums good - drums stop, very bad!". This went on for several days, and one night they suddenly stopped. Everyone looked to the guide, who was visibly frightened and said "drums stop - very, very bad!". One of the pioneers said "why is it so bad?", to which the guide answered "drums stop - time for bass solo!".
"What do you call those people that are always hanging around musicians?"
"Drummers".
Just trying to be an equal-opportunity musician basher!

What's the best way to get a new drummer for your band? Order a pizza to be delivered.
