If you win the $640mil MegaMillions jackpot tonight, where will you go hiking next? I'll probably just pay for a helicopter ride to the top of Everest...

Saw on the news last night that the guy who apparently won it, checked his ticket in Maryland, not yet knowing he was the winner. I was close. Looked like maybe a road crew, as he was wearing one of those reflective vests ...

No such luck. Turns out not to be the road crew guy, but a rich guy. (The reason it took him so long to come forward? He was assembling a team of lawyers and money managers ...) :roll:

I don't think he was rich already. The area of Ftn HIlls he lives in is the cheaper section. Almost even a little ghetto by Ftn HIlls standards.

Heh. No kidding. I never would have thought there would be a cheap area there.

Kinda like the "ghetto" part of Scottsdale I live in....Everybody "assumes" that if you live in Scottsdale, you must be "well off"....
That couldn't be farther from the truth. I can't even afford to buy Lottery Tickets....

@Outdoor Lover
I have it on good authority that you live in a good hood.
But you, like myself have the Beverly Hillbilly Gene.
This allows us to bring the property value down wherever we go.....

Or, as I say, it may be better to be poor & happy, than rich & unhappy, but it is certainly better to be rich & unhappy than poor & unhappy. ;)

Money can't buy happiness. But it sure makes misery easier to live with. author Unknown
There is an intense but simple thrill in setting off in the morning on a mountain trail, knowing that everything you need is on your back. It is a confidence in having left the inessentials behind and of entering a world of natural beauty that has not been violated, where money has no value, and possessions are a dead weight. The person with the fewest possessions is the freest. Thoreau was right. Paul Theroux, The Happy Isles of Oceania: Paddling the Pacific, 1992 backpacking
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something. Jackie Mason

I was working at 68th St and Camelback, but we were driving around at lunch and the section of 68th St north of McDowell had some rough characters walking around.
