Oh, I missed this.
That's a pretty long drive for me, so will have to get buy-in from others here again for next year.

Once again, my niece is coming and we are driving down to run in the Lost Dutchman. Well, she will be running, anyway ;)

This year, though, I was smarter and got a site at the state park campground for Fri and Sat nights, so we can enjoy the area for a day. Any hike suggestions around the area? I have never hiked there, so although I see many post various hikes, I have no idea what to pick. Nothing too strenuous - we do have to run the next day

Glad to have you in our part of the desert. A straight forward hike in the area would be the trails to Praying Hands or you might try the Massacre Falls hike. Both are accessible from the campground with Massacre being a bit further over. Course, there's always Siphon Draw, a trip to the Slickrock Basin (about 1,000 ft aeg) is fun, albeit crowded.

I agree with Jack. Good luck to your niece. Enjoy your weekend camping. My knees still tell me no half marathon.

Thanks! We ended up hiking to Massacre Falls and it was fun. Run went well, too. I beat my time from last year by 3+ min. :y:

It sure rained a lot! Oh well, I finished anyway.
What satisfaction to put on dry clothes at the end. ;)
