Some people may have a holiday on Nov. 11 (Veterans Day).

We will all know who won the election, and regardless who it is, we will all want to get away for a few days to get the future off our minds.

Reavis is popular in autumn. There should be no expectation of wilderness solitude. But there is plenty of room. It's probably hunting season. The apples will be all gone.

Superstition Wilderness regulations limit group size to 15. If more wish to go, you'll have to plan a separate trip.

Access is via 109 North (9.5 miles and 1900 feet up)
or the steeper climb via 109 South (7.5 miles and 1100 feet up).

Average high temperatures in the low to mid 60s, average lows in the mid 30s. It snowed last time I was there in early November.

There is water available for filtering.

Numerous options for day hikes are available for Saturday and Sunday.

*Clothing optional

It'll be too hard to climb that wall when I'm ready to return.

Hiker reports indicate the bushes at Rogers Trough are full of bio-nasties again. Efforts to get toilets up there have stalled because the FS feels there is a risk in hauling them in and out. There are other solutions, like expensive composting toilets. And it's a hiker and ATV'er problem; the place is swarmed with ATV's and UTV's all week in the season. The state has a more money for motorized trails than they can spend so there are options.

Soooo, if you all see the problem while you're there, and were so inclined to email the FS upon your return, maybe something would shake loose.

I have some safety-orange ribbon I'll throw around a tree or two in camp just in case anybody needs to figure out who we are and might be afraid to ask. :D

(Or if you show up and nobody else is in camp ... the ribbon will let you know it's the right place to set up your tent. If you're bored waiting for people to return from their day hikes, feel free to wander into the hills around the valley to find some firewood and bring it back!)

Offensive cairns are also possible. :o

I came up Fish Creek Hill this afternoon around 3:30 PM and met 3 monster 5th wheel rigs and one very very big motorhome just starting down the hill. I was amazed at their willingness to risk their rigs on that road. I hope they made it and are not blocking you all's attempt to get to the trailhead today!
