No. Certainly not off the top of my head, nor do I recall what Joe said about it. [-(

.71" at my house. The gauge on the way to work read .94".

Woke up THREE separate times due to storms. One lightning strike had to be within a couple hundred yards based on the volume and immediacy of the thunder.

Good stuff. I hope the next round this afternoon is similarly active.

You know how you have had a tendency to pull people's fairly random yet pertinent posts from the past up at times? Almost as though it makes you seem like you were stalking them or kept a file of things they had posted to bring up at a later time? Well, this might look like one of those times for me, but instead I will post this: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=4061 instead of your, and other people's May 2009 posts. Look where it is, too. Took me a real long time to dig for them.

The very first of 4309 (and counting) posts. How nostalgic! :lone: You probably didn't even have to use the amazing HAZ search function like I do.

@kingsnake
The map is of radar estimates, not actual data. For instance, Thompson Peak received .47", while Hesperus Wash, just 1.5 miles away received 1.10". On the radar estimate map, both are well within a the "green" returns, which is obviously not what actually happened at those locations.

With the very localized storms like we had last night, the radar estimates are not an exact science. I can't find any actual measurements from near Butterfield Pass. Mobile is the closest and had less than .5". The foothills of Cave Creek and Carefree have numerous reports of 1"+ totals, as high as 1.6".

Water actually started to flow in Cave Creek. That primes the ground for real flow this afternoon if more rain falls up there.

The Lightning was really Intense...There had to be a Strike within 1/4 Mile at one point, the Flash and Sound were simultaneous....Didn't hear any explosions so it missed our Line of Aerial Power Transformers.....Don't have a Gauge, but I'm thinking we got at least .25 if not more in South Scottsdale....

ADOT reports a 15-mile stretch of closed highway, so there was definitely some good rain in the area!
SR 238 is closed from just west of Maricopa to Waterman Wash, mile 40 to mile 24, because of flooding.

Some hail here at Grand Canyon Village right now. Chance of snow on Saturday.

I think this weather is really weird, but nice. The forecast for Saturday is only in the mid-70s for Tucson, and mid-50s on Table Mountain (Catalinas) which I was considering hiking until I remembered the shin daggers, and right now I would prefer not to deal with them.

It's just giving me a little more time before I have to fire up the evaporative cooler for the season. ;)

Snowing in the pass and flash flooding and hail down below. First closure of the 24 of the year. My wife kids and father in law are stuck in her springs. Crazy weather.

Williams may be cold and damp, but nothing like that! We've had a dusting of snow that didn't stick and a bit of sprinkling.
