Highest forecast temp for the next two weeks is 75, but mostly in the 60's. Now if Galveston would just cool off and dry up a bit I''d be golden.

Yep that would be Bernat the kom pup 10 weeks 30lbs. He is going to keep the mountain lions from eating our kids when he gets bigger. Doesn't seem to mind hanging on the deck in the rain with 40 degree temps this morning.

Most of NAZ is above this summer.

And on September 1, Flagstaff concluded a second (I don't think 3rd or more, however) water year (September 1 to August 31) with well above normal precipitation and a total of 26.02 inches, only 0.23 hundredths less than the 2014-2015 water year. Prescott and Winslow basically came in right over the mean.

This awesome dry weather gets me excited for fall and winter summits. I am sort of looking for a partner for some of them, Matazal, would be one. Someone with a GPS, would be nice. That looks like an awesome one for early October.

What dry weather? In Tucson, where I am right now, my hosts have gone out twice to get sand bags, in anticipation of a forecasted deluge. The rain is coming up from Mexico, remainder of a tropical storm. My friend said the sand bags ran out right away and people were in a long line waiting for the next flatbed truck to arrive with more, and were kind of fighting over them when they did arrive.
Sheesh! So far it hasn't started raining in central Tucson, but another friend on the NW side said it started up there. And I have a birthday party to attend...

@azbackpackr
Nothing like having your visit sandbagged!

Btw...what the heck are they getting sandbags for? To ward off the storm? hehe Let 'er rip I say.

I'm amazed at how many people there are that chose to live in Arizona, and yet seem to want to live in Florida, or Mississippi, or New England. Baffling.

And I am not one of them.

Here in NJ, the hurricane remains have blown back west and are now at or near their closest approach. The low will hang out there for a few days, leaving us in the tropical soup for while. The dehumidifier filled up three times today. I'd gladly swap with AZ, especially through next Sunday.
On the other hand, it was an unexpectedly sunny and temperate day for the Scandinavian Festival in Budd Lake on Sunday.

No rain yet.
@rwstorm
My friend says that during really big storms the water sometimes comes in under the door at her home, which is on very flat ground near TMC. But at least my brother's birthday party wasn't sandbagged! Have had a wonderful visit, seeing old friends, plus several family members. I keep thinking I should just get around to moving back here.

Absolutely real Americana here folks.

Interestingly, Payson, Arizona had such a dedicated weather observer for many years, also named Anna Mae (Deming)! She was a local legend and has a trail named for her.
