The engineering cluster

that is the entire Slate Creek area is once again going under the ADOT knife.
The Beeline will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction until fall so that crews can once again attempt to prevent the whole area from sliding down the hill.
So, be prepared for slow traffic in the general Sunflower / Mt. Ord / Slate Creek area (about 20 miles south of Payson).

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for alternating lane closures on north- and southbound State Route 87 (Beeline Highway) between Fort McDowell Road, north of Fountain Hills, and Four Peaks Road from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, April 19, 2021, through Thursday, April 22, 2021 for pavement maintenance.
Note: Crews will work within approximately 5-mile segments at a time. Additional daytime SR 87 work is planned in May at milepost 217 in Sunflower. The restriction schedule is subject to change.

Thanks for posting, two trips to the valley next week, think they are also doing work along the Bush Hiway as well.

State Route 87 lane closures planned near Sunflower May 10 - 14, 2021
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for the following weekday travel delays on State Route 87 near Sunflower (milepost 217) while alternating lane closures are in place for pavement work.
North and southbound SR 87 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions at milepost 217 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 10, through Friday, May 14.

SR 87 lane restrictions in Fort McDowell area planned this weekend Nov. 6-7
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for delays while north- and southbound State Route 87 is narrowed to one lane at Rodeo Drive north of Fountain Hills from 5 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7. The restrictions are needed for the 2021 Spartan Race event at the Fort McDowell Rodeo Grounds.

Yesterday a B-52 fuselage was heading North on 87 enroute to Oklahoma.

I used to see them in western WY doing electronic low-level bomb runs out in the middle of nowhere. I swear I could feel them before I heard or saw them. And you could recognize the pilot.

I saw them going up Gilbert Road last week. It spend the night at the bridge by the river before they took it the rest of the way.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following alternating lane closures along State Route 87 between Cline Cabin Road (milepost 204) and Sunflower Road (milepost 218), for maintenance work.
Northbound SR 87 will be narrowed to one lane in five-mile segments daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 10.
Southbound SR 87 will be narrowed to one lane in five-mile segments daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, and Thursday, May 12.

Restrictions on southbound State Route 87 near Bush Highway and Fort McDowell Road daily from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. beginning Monday, July 18th, through Friday, Aug. 5th
Southbound SR 87 will be reduced to one lane between north of Bush Highway (milepost 201) and north of Fort McDowell Road (milepost 194). Right- and left-turn bays will be closed intermittently in this area as well. The southbound SR 87 on- and off-ramps at Bush Highway will be closed from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 18.

87 is closed between Shea Blvd and the loop 202 due to a downed powerline and fallen powerline tower. No ETA on the clean up or reopening, initially projected to be at least several days.

Notwithstanding the single-lane, southbound restrictions by Sunflower...
State Route 87 has partially reopened north of Mesa, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The highway has reopened between Gilbert Road and Shea Boulevard. The highway remains closed between McDowell and Gilbert roads. There is no estimated time to reopen the highway between Gilbert and McDowell. T

State Route 87 north of Mesa fully reopened Sunday after a week-long closure due to cleanup from a monsoon storm.

@hikeaz Impressive work. As of yesterday evening there were powerlines laying in the road and new poles not yet erected.

North and southbound SR 87 will be narrowed to one lane daily between Bush Highway and Four Peaks/Cline Cabin Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 10, and again from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14.
